Kagimei and I happened upon Papa and Sorren earlier today. While it is usually quite amusing for Papa to demonstrate his military prowess, I could not help but remain confused as we watched.
I noticed Sorren was not able to hold his sword properly. Not only that, his stance was considerably off place. It's quite unusual for him, but given his troubles over the past year, I can not say that I am surprised.
What pained me the most to see, however, was the look of frustration in my older brother's eyes. I think he could tell that Papa wasn't using his full strength like he usually does, and I believe that only worsened Sorren's recent feelings of hopelessness. Both of which seemed to only deepen in his eyes when Mama and Zane joined us as well. I must admit, the way my brother can feign nonchalance is remarkable.
My attention was then drawn to the hushed murmurings of my eldest brother, Zane, and twin, Kagimei. They seemed to be talking about working on some kind of mechanism. Yet before I could ask what they meant, they took off in a hurry. My only thought being, 'Sheesh. Prepping for a hot date or something?' Can't say that was my best choice of words, even in my head. Whatever it is they're concocting, I'm sure it will have a purpose of some kind.
I only have a couple more hours to remain with my family before I must leave for the night. The souls of the dead wait for no one, as Mistuki and Maya are so kind to remind of every time I'm a couple minutes late to a scene.
