The Tales of Cassel Part 1
A long time ago there was a women by the name of Lillian, who lived with her daughter, Maryanne, in a small town called Cassel. The population in Cassel was about fifty people, everyone knew each other, and everyone trusted each other. If someone needed to borrow a vehicle, the town folk would lend you theirs!
Cassel was located in a rural area, where not many tourists would go. Occasionally, a tourist or two would stumble upon this small town, but stay only a few hours for a bite to eat, or to stop for gas.
"Momma?" cried Maryanne, who was near sixteen years old. "Momma?" she cried again this time in kitchen. "MOMMA?!"
"Hush child!" yelled Lillian, after sixteen years, Maryanne never got used to the fact that noontime, was Momma time.
"But momma!-" cried Maryanne stopping halfway up the stairs.
Lillian had come out of the bedroom and with a frustrated tone yelled, "Child I said HUSH, and if I have to tell you to be quiet one more time, you'll be gettin' a visit from the belt! You understand?"
"But momma, school is tomorrow, and I still haven't bought my supplies! Can i please have some money so's I can go by myself into town?" asked Maryanne with a desperate look on her face.
"Girl, you think you gonna go to town in this heat? Well, your near an adult now, so come up here and I'll give you ten dollars."
"Thank you Momma." Sweat was dripping down Maryanne's face, her house incredibly hot, and not even short clothes would help them.
Maryanne took her bicycle from the garage. Her mother wouldn't let her drive, at least not until she turned twenty. Lillian was a strict mother, her mother and father had beaten her until she was twenty, and she felt the same should go with her daughter. Maryanne never met her grandparents, they died in a rainstorm, their car had drove of a closed bridge on the way to see Maryanne the newborn, who was born on Halloween night. The day Maryanne's grandparents decided to visit was Friday, November 13th, the same day Lillian's boyfriend left her for a beautiful, blue-eyed city girl named Jane.
