Red Souls
What is destiny? Is destiny like the wind? Does it come fulll on with the harshest of force, and gently blow away within the breeze as though it were never truly there? Or is it like the blaze of the flame? Coming on with unstopable power, battering down within its path. IS it more like the gentle wave? The wave that beats against the shoreline, the gentle wave that sooths us, or the furious wave of a storm? Is it more like the earth? The plants that stretch themselves into resting, the vines that wrap among the trees as if here to stay, as if it is not ready to blow over as simply as the other elements. THat was the question. None wanted to hear this question, in fear of bringing back memories that have long sine desolved, have blown away. This is a time, as any other time. This is neither the past, the present or the future, but something more than all three. It is eternal. The timing has not judge, like the plants it stretches itself firmly over the trees that inhabit it, or rather, the inhabitants. But like the flame, the memories kept returning, burning them in pain. Like the water is suttled and boomed in unison. And like the wind, it pleasontly blew away in the breeze again. Our story is in a place. A different place, one you have never imagoned. For you see, long ago, on our planted Earth, when life was still young, we all lived together. There were humans, not as safisticated as they are now, and ceratinly not as smart. How they survived was with assistance. Fore you see, there were other creatures. Not the ones you see in the forest, or in the ocean. One could say, we consider then mythical creatures, they helped the humans to survive, and obtained peace among all creatures. But nothing was meant to last forever. The humans had grown smarter through the ages, and now wanted the world to their own. Sensing this, the creatures created a portal to another land. THe remaining creatures upon Earth that either didn't make it through the portal or didn't want to leave, stayed hidden. The rest, cealed the gates, and made a new life in a new land, as the reamaining creatures parted the world, people began to forget of their exsistance. Now, our story begins in this new land, with an ancient breed of creature. Thye bring on the appearence of a canine, with extrodnary features beond your wildest dreams. A ceratin race of these creatures we will focus upon, is the Soul Gaurdians.
******************************************** Silence blanketed the world. Night spread across the lands, stars spekcled and glittered in the black skys. "Mother." Began a soft voice, cutting through the thick darkness like a knife. "Where do we go when we die? Will we be together when we die?" The curious voice squeeked. "Oh Athena, do relax, I promise We'll be together when we die, now please, Athena, sleep." Groaned an even softer voice. The pup seemed to be persuade, for the talking stopped...for the moment. " "Well, mother, do we die once? Or do we come back?" Asked Athena. Athena was a Soul Gaurdian as her mother was. SHe had soft blue fure, tinted with a lighter blue. Her underbelly was white along with the tip of her tail. Around her neck was a dark blue ribbon that danced around her paws. At the end of the silky ribbon were two bells. Her main was a sparkling blueish, agua, that began at her had and flowed briliantly down her neck as it she had hair. Altogether she was a magnificent Soul Gaurdian. "Athena, I am tired, now please, lay down and sleep." Ordered her mother sleepily as she curled her tail around Athena. "We will play in the morning." "BUT MOM! The morning's like, a long time away!" Shouted Athena sorrowfully. "I suppose it is awhile away Athena, but you'll just have to wait." Explained her mother with a yawn. Athena plopped down where she stood, extending her lower lip in the good 'Ol pouting fashion. "Athena." Moaned her mother. "Can't it wait?" "NO." Came the answer, a bit too quickly. "Athena I demand that you sleep!" Shouted her mother, her voice was strong with anger mixed with a sort of pity. Athena sighed, realizing she had been beaton. There was nothing wrong with admiting defeat, but admitting defeat from your mother, it seemed...disapointing to Athena. She lie quickly and obidiantly. "There, was that so hard?" Asked Athena's mother with a sigh of relief. No reply. "Now Athena, don't be stubborn, that'll get you nowhere." Athen did not answer, or rather, she refused to answer. She stuck out her lower lip in a outing fashion. "Athena!" Hissed her mother. "Be polite!"
