I watch you flutter about in your cage
Angrily pecking at the bars
Sadly sulking on your perch
With nothing to do but weep

Let the leaves dancing around you
With the sun racing you to the horizon
But you perch on your ledge beside the window

No longer will you weep
Or cry out at night in loneliness
I will pry these bars open

You can fly in the wind and dance with the leaves
Behind these golden bars I watch you fly
