My recipes
A collection of recipes I have tried and liked. Updated whenever I get around to it.
Recipes for homemade cleaning supplies
Garbage:

*
To prevent odors use 2 Tablespoons baking soda in disposal every week

Dishes/Pots/Pans:

*
Baking soda removes coffee/tea stains

Microwave:

*
Wipe interior with a solution of 4 tablespoons of baking soda to one quart warm water

Oven:

*
Mixture of ammonia and water in a spray bottle
*
For tough stains use baking soda and water directly on stain and let mixture stand for a while

Kitchen:

*
For antibacterial cleaning use 1 tablespoon of bleach in a bottle and fill with water to disinfect sinks/counters (good for meat)

Drains:

* For a plugged Drain use ½ cup baking soda and ½ cup vinegar and boiling water
* For a grease-clogged drain use a cup of salt and a cup of baking soda down the rain followed by a generous amount of boiling water.

Carpets:

*
Club soda is an instant spot remover, just pour and then blot
*
1/2 cup dishwashing soap plus 2 cups boiling water make a good spot remover
*
Salt brightens lifeless, faded carpets. Let it sit an hour and then vacuum
*
To remove gum, hold an ice cube over the break gum off
*
To remove glue, rub it with a cloth soaked in vinegar
*
For crayon removal, use baking soda sprinkled on a damp sponge

Furniture:

*
For furniture polish combine 3 Parts olive oil with 1 part vinegar
*
Another option for polish is using 1 part lemon juice, to 2 parts olive oil or vegetable oil
*
For water ring removal, use toothpaste and baking soda applied with a damp cloth

All-Purpose:

*
1/2 Cup Ammonia, 1/3 Cup Vinegar, 2 Tablespoons baking soda, one gallon water

Window and Glass:

*
1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar with 1 quart water
*
2 tablespoons cornstarch, ½ cup white vinegar, and 1 gallon water
*
To make window cleaner, combine 1 tsp. dish soap, ½ c. ammonia, 1 cup rubbing alcohol. Place mixture in gallon jug and fill with water.
*
Toothpaste will remove small glass scratches
*
Rubbing Alcohol makes a great glass cleaner

Bathroom:

*
Mix equal parts white vinegar and water will give a brilliant shine to the surface of kitchen/bathroom appliances
*
4 teaspoons salt and ½ cup white vinegar helps remove buildup from your bathroom fixtures
*
Remove light stains with a lemon
*
For a shower door shine, wipe them with a sponge dampened with white vinegar.
*
Vinegar will remove toilet bowl stains
*
Lemon juice erases rust from hard water
