Thursday Night
Well it didn't start out good at first, our designated driver forgot her purse in Delaware, so we were dropped off at the Hyatt and she had to meet up with her basement buddy to retrieve it. But, immediately, as SOON as I got into the hotel, I got my picture taken. . . wearing only my hat. Herp. Once we were all preregistered and we lurked the convention levels, my roomies, Paige and Abby, crashed into the hotel for the night.
Friday
After waking up from some required sleep, we all got dressed into minimal clothing and walked down the street to some really AWESOME bakery for breakfast, where I almost ruined Gilbird with coffee, orz;;; From then on, I had the lil' guy clipped onto my shoulder. We returned and bumped into some amazing Hetalia cosplayers, so I was all "s**t SON I GOTTA GET DRESSED AND JOIN IN *flee*"
We returned downstairs as Austrian Succession Prussia and Austria, along with a random China. Don't ask, SOMEhow Paige pulled off China without having to do a single ********' thing xD
I was actually really surprised with all of the attention that I got! I mean, I could understand Abby's, because her Austria was absolutely gorgeous, but my Prussia was so last minuted that I was happy enough with it not falling apart mid-con! All in all, I met some amazing people that day.
MY NEIGHBORS. . .OH MY GOD
Back in the hotel I found out that our neighbors down the hall were England, Spain, Canada and . . . I forget who else. Ever since I found out their room number, I had been knocking on their door obnoxiously whenever we passed by. Well, on our way up to get changed for the rave, I was all "LOL IMA GO KNOCK K BAI" As SOON as my fist made contact, Spain opened the door, "HAAAIII~"
I screamed and ate the wall behind me, ffff
Now the rave, ehhh, I learned it really wasn't my thing. I stayed for maybe two hours with my Austria, who had changed into Miku for it, then left because I was ********' TIRED.
Saturday
Oh my God, I have to say that this was my favorite day. There were much more people than on Friday, which I totally expect. It was the day of the Hetalia sleepover, which I was REALLY looking forward to the most out of the whole con. The 'Ask A Nation' panel was ran terrifically, everybody's cosplay looked neat and perfect, and they stayed in character.
Once again, a lot of unexpected attention! People were shouting at me from upper levels of the convention center, and some carried my cape when we were walking around *egostroke*
Fffff actually before that panel started me and about maybe 15 other Hetalians chilled in the room for 15 minutes, and . . . Sweden beat me up with his sword. orz.
That day I met a really adorable Belarus who hung out with us for the rest of the con! I ended up taking her to lunch, sccoorree BD *shotsohard* . . . Alright, so, McDonalds isn't THE nicest place to eat, but it's all I could afford, nhnhnhn Cx ;
The photoshoot on Saturday was REALLY exciting, there were so many people, amazing ones at that! I can't wait to see the uploaded images <3
DAT SLEEPOVER, LOL. So we couldn't find out a place to hold it, in fact we ended up parading around the con a few times looking for a location. Lithuania ended up taking charge and we used the third floor.
I was a total derp there. I was wearing a dress shirt, snowflake bottoms, my cape and a Gilbird hat xD And I proposed to our Austria there, it was adorable <3 AND THE RING WAS GORGEOUS D8< ;
. . . Afterward we played Mafia, I was one of the first to go *sadface* CANADA killed me, what da fawk? There was an epic pixie stick party going on in hell. We also played Never Have I Ever . . . and I learned that in AND out of character, I will never win that game.
Oh yes and then we played Mustang until we couldn't breath.
A few of us ended up wandering down to the little bar area for beverage, where we sat until two am talking and derping around. Italy ordered root beer and they gave her actual beer . . . GREAT JOB BARTENDERS *claps*
Sunday
B'awww, it was the last day. Belarus had to go home, so she came up to our room while we were packing and said goodbye. We got dressed once more and went to take our stuff to the car, where we were created with "PRUSSIA AUSTRIA OMFG RGUILHRGIUERHILUWER"
My favorite part of the convention was this day, actually, and it was the Hetalia Serious Business Panel. Now, as you guys know, even though I am a total idiot, I appreciate these types of things, because it voiced some of the most important aspects of the Hetalia fandom (so that we can prevent it from becoming the new Naruto. . fffffff unless it has already happened, HNNGGGGGG. )
Then we danced around in the Dealers room for a little while, decided we were ready to go, and left. There was a procession as I left the convention, it was, dare I say, pretty damn awesome. Ended up finding out that the Russia who we met at the Formal Ball and ran the Hetalia photoshoots was from Delaware! HAH! THERE ARE PEOPLE LIVING IN THIS TINY ******** STATE! *flail*
*cough* Yeah, anyways.
Overall, I have to say that this is the first convention I attended feeling confident enough with myself AND my cosplay. There's been a lot of tough s**t going on back at home with myself, so this was a nice change of pace for me
I freakin' love you guys XD ! <3 And I hope to see you all elsewhere.
And yes, I will DEFINITELY be back next year.
