It worms into the heart,
Destroyer of the mind,
It feeds upon blind hunger
Borne by all mankind.

It worms into the gut,
Consumer of all flesh,
It feeds upon the filth
Born of needless death.

It worms into the mouth,
Fool's bloody gilded teeth.
It feeds upon our thirsts
Born with no relief.

It worms into the bones,
Eroder of all trust.
It feeds upon our sleep
Born of time and dust.

It worms into the blood,
It lives within the flesh.
It feeds upon the fear
Born of heart's unrest.

It worms into the eyes,
Admiress of petty tests.
It feeds upon vain love
Born of hollow chests.

It worms into the soul,
Deluder of all worth,
It feeds on hollow breaths,
Borne of flattery and dirt.
