Random dream I had one night....

I sat quietly with my heart threatening to pound through my chest, did everyone around me know what I was doing here? Would they suspect anything if I left?
I shifted in my seat as I raised one proud hand. I was already running late, I should have gotten up the courage several minutes ago, but better late then never right? A tall dark angry looking man answered my silent request, "Yes what is it?"
It took a moment for me to find my voice, I cleared my throat once before speaking. "Yes, I need to use the restroom sir."
"Denied."

The quickness of his answer caught me off guard and my outrage almost showed on my face but I kept it under control as I attempted to reason with the man.
"But Sir, I'm having some lady-issues."

The man grinned slightly behind his desk, crossing his hands under his chin as he spoke with true malice.
"You think we wouldn't have noticed a student who didn't belong here. We've already sent word to the authorities."

His calm demeanor was rather nerve-racking, I simply stood up from my desk and grabbed the bag beside me. The other students looked on in shock, why would anyone sneak into a school.
Why, you ask? Simple, because in this day and age not every one has health care. So when some crazy outbreak of modern medical warfare explodes onto the human race not everyone can get the vaccine.

Thus, my two comrades and myself took it apon ourselves to get the new vaccine for the lasted threat to human society at any means possible even sneaking into a High school to steal the supplies. As I secured the bag to my person I thought about the last time I had been inside a high school. I had been 16, and my mother had let me drop out, a rather taboo action nowadays as you were considered lower-class to have done so. Now 22, here I stood in another class room trying to steal supplies from it. Maybe they were right, maybe I am lower-class, and if so I'm sure gonna show this sad excuse of an educator that.

I leaped toward his desk calling out obscenities, he quickly pushed his chair back in an attempt to escape. I laughed as I slapped his bald head, in a tribute to the three stooges. As I made for the door I could already hear the sirens, I had waited too long and now I could see the Police had already started searching classrooms for those who didn't belong.

I stayed calm and continued walking as if I had a purpose. I tried to think quickly as I wondered away from the Police and rather into the school. I had known people who had once they graduated had come back to visit old teachers and what not. I had always assumed they were trying to still clutch the easy days of fun and laughter that school held for some of the more popular students.

The bell rang and soon students were running every which way trying to make it to their next class without being late. Next thing I knew I was pushed into a familiar face. It was William a younger brother to a friend I hadn't seen since high school. I quickly called out to him. He smiled and grabbed me by the arm and directed me to follow him.

It turned out that someone had sent word to his brother about our plan and he had told his younger brother to keep an eye out as I might be with the group. William quickly vowed to help me. I offered my plan to him and he waved it away, saying no one does that anymore and suggested I get off the campus grounds as that would give me some space between the police and myself.

I followed William as fast as I possibly could. He lead me to the back of the school cafeteria, where there was a van waiting for us. He explained that the two Mexican drivers were sympathetic to our cause and would help us escape as William was sure to be punished for this little act. We quickly hopped in the van and the driver took off, almost too fast as I couldn't quite get the door shut all the way and as we passed by a guarded gate, the guard noticed what looked like two students escaping.

Next thing I knew the Police were fast behind us, all the traffic helped though. As soon as we came to a stop light William and I jumped out of the van and into the nearby woods, running for what was surely to be our lives. I could hear the sound of someone in pursuit of us. I told William to hide in some brush and claim that I had threatened him if they found him.

I heard a loud bark and knew they had let the dogs outs. I ran ripping off my shoes and throwing a jacket in a different direction in an attempt to confuse the beasts. I was soon approaching what looked like a doctor's office. I ran as fast as I could while yelling for help. At this point I would have accepted anyone's help. I ran up to a parked SUV where a woman and two children were getting into the vehicle. I pleaded with the woman, "Please help me, my boyfriend hit me and I'm trying to get away from him."

The woman was smart and asked where I lived before allowing me in her vehicle. I slipped and mentioned a place that no longer had housing units near it. She noticed the lie and next thing I knew I awoke with a splitting head ache. I had been caught.

When I awoke I found myself in a strange room tied and shackled to a wall. There was a very familiar young girl sitting in a chair near the door. The door opened and a woman walked in, her short hair didn't deceive me at all. The woman from the SUV was the one who captured me. She had been asking me questions to stall me. Here I thought she was just being a cautious mother.

The woman noticed the anger on my face and shook her head.
"You should have just kept running."
I sighed as I hung my head for a moment, when I looked up the woman was holding a syringe in her hand. She intended to give me some sort of drug I'm sure. Which she did, I thought about fighting her but it would do me no good.

When I awoke for the second time I noticed I had been moved for a far stranger room than the one before. It looked like some crazed science fiction movie set. I was strapped to a table with some sort of strange device hanging over me. I looked around the room and found William's older brother Gill staring at a clipboard and making notes. Of course, Gill and I were never really good friends. He set me up, I should have remembered that he was a science geek in high school.

Gill nodded to the SUV woman as he spoke. "Dr. Holmes, I think the patient is about ready to proceed." "Oh alright then, bring the others in please," the woman replied.

I was nervous, to say the least. I had no idea what they intended to do to me and I was not about to be killed or harmed, not when I had someone waiting on me. If he got away. More doctors and men of science filled the room. I thrashed and kicked with my limbs trying to get away. Dr. Holmes motioned for the young girl who I hadn't noticed till just now to come closer. Once more I got the feeling I had known the girl from somewhere before. The doctor noticed my familiarities with the child and smiled as she spoke.

"Of course you know her, she is technically your daughter." The outrage must have shown on my face as the doctor explained in more detail. "You see she's more like an enhanced clone of you. She's only 5 days old even though she looks about six years. She's growing fast but she will even out soon and grow at a normal pace."

The young girl touched my face with her hand and I could feel the strength in her little fingers. She was enhanced alright, probably as strong as superman. She looked sad though and a little lost at hearing the information that I was her mother.
I wanted to argue with the scientist and claim that she was not mine but I knew she was, her looks alone told me it was true. She had my mother's dark straight thin hair.

Dr. Holmes then maneuvered the child away from me as she answered my unasked question. " We've had your DNA in ice for quite some time. We couldn't use it till we were sure that we could get you here, for testing and other things."
I nodded slowly. The Doctor looked away at the young girl for a moment and sighed. "Saddly the project has been canceled and we must destroy all evidence of it. That includes you and the child."

The look of horror on my face caught the doctor for a moment and I could see the compassion in her eyes come to the surface for a moment. While the others in the room were busy talking amongst themselves she loosed the hold on one of the straps keeping me to the flat metal table.

Just then the building shook and a loud explosion was heard. The suits left the room to find out what was going on, leaving me, the girl, and Gill in the room. Gill looked over to me and smiled.
"I thought they'd never leave."
"What?"
To my surprised Gill came over closer to me and released the shackles holding me completely.
"I was sent to rescue you and the girl."
The surprise must have shown on my face. "You mean your not in with this crazy people."
Gill tried to explain as he helped me get to my feet.

"Well, yes and no. I was contacted after I had already worked here for quite some time. I didn't care for the work so I started being a double man if you will."
I nodded my understanding as I looked to what was essentially my daughter. "What do we do about her?"
"If you leave her they will probably kill her."
"I guess she's coming with us then."

I held out my hand to the little girl and she took it, careful not to hurt me with her strength. I swooped her up into my arms as I carried her following Gill out of the room and down a few halls. He lead me away from the sounds of people to a small back exit that was rarely used.
"Thank Gill, sorry I thought you were a trader and all."
"Don't thank me yet, I need you to hit me."
I set down the girl as I ready my fists. Gill held up his hands in protest.
"Not you, the girl."
"Oh."

I made a fist and showed her that I intended her to hit Gill. She giggled and nodded.
"Alright, 01 make sure it's not full strength alright?" Gill spoke to her and I learned her name for the first time was 01. She smiled as she popped Gill in the face. He smiled slightly before he lost consciousness, I assumed he would tell some tall tale about how I threatened him and made him bring me to an unused exit. I grabbed 01 up into my arms and made for the woods surrounding the compound.

I only knew two things, one I needed to find out what happened to my comrades and two I now had a genetically enhanced daughter to think about.
