Walking down an old dusty road with nothing in site I ask my partner, "Hmmm, I wonder if this is where they told us to go." Looks over at best friend and co-worker Suzie Ross. "I have no idea, I mean you were the one whom insisted on going in there alone." Stops to look at time and rest for a few minutes when all of the sudden a hotel appeared out of nowhere. "Did you do that, Emma?" asked Suzie. As we were both looking at the strange hotel we heard a phone ringing. "No I didn’t do anything i stopped using my powers long ago." I said as we picked up our things and walked inside. "Can I help you?" asked a high pitched voice from behind us. "Yes actually you could, ummm, we are looking for a Miss Woodlyn." said Suzie to the strange old women, and while she was doing that i was walking around looking at all of the items up on the old walls. "Well she is to show in about a day, so if you ladies would like to stay I can get you a room key." the women said with a sweet smile. "Yeah, that would be great thank you so much, ummm, I didn’t catch your name." I said as i walked up to the counter. The whole place smelt like wet wood and pine, like you just got out of a thunder storm in the middle of the woods. "Oh I am very sorry my name is Anna, and I live here in this very place with my cats." She said while one of her cats, a black and white small kitten ran past me under my legs into the other hallway. She handed me a room key and said "Room 184 Miss Emma." I had thought it was rather strange that she had known my name when we haven’t even said it the whole time we were in this old place but I didn’t really give it any thought though and we started for our room up the stairs.

So we were walking up the stairs to get in our room when one of the stair gave way and I fell through, but not very much because only my legs went in before Suzie grabbed my arms and pulled me back up and said "Be careful this house is pretty old who knows what you could fall through next." We walked to our room and on the door was some sort of writing in another language that i couldn’t make out. "What do you think it is Suzie?" I asked but, by the time i had already asked the question she had the door open and was already unpacking her things. A sigh of relief when we were down unpacking and even a laugh or two before one of the cats jumped up on the dresser and made Suzie scream and fall to the floor. "Its just a cat Suzie." I said as i picked up the small kitten that ran past us just as we arrived. I sat on my bed and petted the poor hungry little thing and before I knew it there were at least ten more cats sitting and laying on the floor around me. "I hate the fact that animals love you and they hate me." Said Suzie with a grouchy look on her face. "Well you know that they would like you if you only tried to be nice to them and not acts like they are about to kill all of man kind and take over the world." I explained with a wince in my voice. The whole time we sat there talking I could feel a presence. Like there was someone else in the room but it was faint and then gone like who ever or what ever it was just got up and walked out. Last night was the first time my powers acted on their own and I didn’t really understand why or how they could have done that. All I know is there is something in this house and I am going to find out what it is and why its here.

All that day I could not feel any presences in any of the rooms that we guests were aloud in but when ever i went near the basement door I could feel something. That something was strong and was trying to pull me in, but as this is one of those places we are not aloud. "What do you want to do today, Emma?" asked Suzie as she was getting dressed in the bathroom. She loves to change clothes a million times a day but she is a fashion icon so I guess it comes with the job. " I was thinking that maybe we could sneak into the basement and figure out was is trying to get my attention. I sat on the bed with the strange cat and as I said basement she started to purr and rub on my side. " Yeah, that’s sounds like fun if you want to get kicked out for trespassing." she said as she stuck her head out of the bathroom door with her toothbrush in her mouth. "I said sneak, and besides its not like she will ever know. She is going to town which is like forty miles west of here." I said as she started to brush her teeth. "Fine I guess we could go down there but only because I don’t want you to go by yourself and I don’t really feel like staying up here by myself." she explained then finished brushing and walked out of the bathroom with the hair brush and sat on the bed. " Ok so as soon as she is out of site, we make our move." I said with a smile.

As we said our good-byes to her and the good-lucks, we looked at each other several times before she left. We acted like we were going bake up stairs when she walked through the door. As we watched her drive down the road into the dust and then gone we looked at each other then ran upstairs to grab our items that we would need. "Ok I have to flashlights, batteries, and even my cell phone." I said as we walked down the stairs. All I got in response was a nod and a pat on the back. "Are you ready, Emma?" she asked with a slight pause in the middle of her sentence as a sign of scared. "Yes, I am but are you?" I asked with another wince in my voice. "Hello, is anyone here?" we both looked at each other in shock that there was a male voice coming from the lounge. "I thought no one else was here?" I whispered to Suzie. We had stopped in the middle of the stairs and hadn’t moved until he walked around the corner and looked up at us. "Umm, hi there do you know if I could get a room here?" The young man asked. " Uh, actually the lady that works the front desk is not here." I said as I looked at Suzie in aw. "Oh ok well do you have any idea when she will be back?" he asked in a low deep voice. " Well she just went to town so she may be back in an hour or two, if you would like to wait." Said Suzie still looking at my aw face. "Sure I can wait." He said with a smile.

While the young man was sitting in the lounge with a drink and a nice old-ish book me and Suzie sneak into the basement. "What if that guy comes down here looking for us and then tells Anna that we were down here?" asks Suzie once we get to the bottom step of the basement steps. "He won't, at least we can hope he won't." I say as i turn on the flashlight to examine our surroundings. "Well if he does and we get kicked out then-" "Shhhh!" I said as i felt and even saw a figure walk right in front of us but made no sudden movements to draw attention, but as for Suzie she was breathing hard and i could hear her heart beat loud with fright. "What is it?" she whispered in my ear, I could feel her hot breathe on my neck. "I said shh, so do it before we get noticed by whatever it is!" I whispered back and flicked off the flashlight which made it even darker than before. Creek.......creek.........creek. "Oh.........my..........god" whispered Suzie as she grabbed my arm and started to dig her nails into my skin. "Ouch, Suzie what is it?" I asked as i turned around to see a man standing behind Suzie with her backpack in his hands. "I-I don’t know you tell me, I mean you are the one here who can see and talk to them right?" she shrieked. "Uh, well yeah and its just a man holding your pack. Please don’t move Suzie, please just don’t move." I said as i released her grip from my arm and let it bleed. “Then what am I supposed to do?" She said as she grasped my hand.

As we ran out of the basement my arm was bleeding so bad i had to hold my hand over it to try and make it stop. "I am really sorry, Emma I didn't mean to make it bleed that badly I was just so scared." Said Suzie as we closed the door to the basement and waqlked into the lounge where we had left the strange young man. "No, its fine." I said as we walked into the room and sat down. By that time I guess I would have noticed that my whole arm was covered in blood, but I couldn't feel anything in my arm. While we sat down the stranger saw my bleeding arm and jumped up saying "Oh, my what happened to you?" I could see the pain in his eyes just by looking at my wound. "Nothing, me and my friend Suzie here just got into a fight." I said with a weak smile as he examind my arm then took out a small vial and poored the content onto a napkin. "Well I am sure you got your problems dealt with then?" He asked while he whiped my arm with the napkin. "Yeah, everything is fine between us." I said trying not to look right at him. After he had finished cleaning my arm and bandging it up he sat down next to me and held his breathe for about a minute. "Whats wrong?" I asked him with anouther weak smile. "Nothing I just feel like-" He said as he started gasping for air. I looked over at him and then saw the man from the basement looking right at me with his hands around the strangers neck.

"Oh my god!" Screamed Suzie as she ran out of the bathroom into the lounge holding her arm. "What happened to you?" I asked her as I tryed to prie the ghost's hands away form the strangers neck. "I don't know I was just washing my face when all of the sudden I felt this pain in my arm and well when I looked it was being cut open and no one was even in there with me!" She said with tears in her eyes for the horror of the situation. "Okay, well just go into the kitchen and get a towel to tie around your arm to stop the bleeding." I said as calmly as I could. "Okay I will but when I get back I want to lay on that couch!" She said as she rushed into the hallway and then dissapered into the daskness. While I watched her walk into darkness the strange had lost consciounsness and was hardly brething so the only thing I could do was hit the ghost. So I put my hand into a fist and swang at his head and knocked him onto the floor. As I watched the ghost glare at me and dissaper the stranger came back and started to cough and looked at me with a weak smile until he fell over, but before he fell all the way over I caught him and layed him out on the couch.

When the stranger woke up he had red marks on his neck and he looked confused as to what had just happened to him. "What happened?" he asked me looking up from the hall to my eyes. "I dont think you will believe me if I tell you." I said to him with a concerned face. "Well you could always start with the fact that he was strangled but a ghost.........." Suzie said until she saw my expretion on my face then shut up. "What does she mean?" He asked sitting up and looking from her to me with a frightened expretion on his face that turned into a concerned expretion as he stod up and almost fell over until I cought him and held him up, our arms linked together, eyes to eyes, faces blank and then, it happened again. Only this time it wasnt real, the ghost wasnt strangling the stranger but another ghost of a little girl sitting on the couch in a dress and no shoes. We both stare at them until they disaper and then look at eachother shocked. "Did you see.....?" "Yeah, I did but how did you see it too?" "I have seen ghost since I was seven." Said the stranger still holding my arms and his eyes were locked on mine like he was trying to unlock my mind. "But, how did you see them?" "I have been able to since I was ten." I said not looking away from is beautful green eyes. "Wow, really? Well that is amazing......What are we talking about now?" Asked Suzie confused looking at me and the stranger holding eachother and looking deep into eachothers eyes. "Nothing, it was nothing at all Suzie." Said the stranger winking at me. "She knows about me beening able to." I said smiling up at him. "Yeah, I do know, now tell me what I missed!!!" "Well, umm oh I dont know your name........" I said looking at him, smile fading. "My name is [{(i cant think of a name for the stranger so please help me)}]
