In deciding what to work on writing wise tonight, I had just this random thought about two stories, whose files land alphabetically side by side. I began those two stories about a month ago, within three days of each other. The first is already on chapter seven, which is pretty good considering how little I've been able to write this summer. But, the second has barely scratched into chapter one.

I thought: Some stories just write faster than others.

Some plots, characters, and places get onto paper much faster than others. It is pretty much impossible (for me at least) to predict where writer's block will hit, and for what story, not to mention new inspiriation popping up left and right, up and down, forwards and backwards, and any diagonals you can imagine in between. What is surprising is seeing the story you thought you had perfectly laid out in your mind going slower than the plot which spontaneously popped out of your head, half baked and not completely there, put to paper simply because it seemed too brilliant...
