She sits in the middle of her old room
knees hugged to her chest
tears of sorrow, pain, and death
flow down her face as she stares
stares at where there used to be a wall
a wall that she thought would protect her
protect her from the outside world
her mother, gone
father, gone
no one left to stand by her side
to hold her when she cries
she stares at nothing
the wall that was to protect her is gone
she stands up and walks to where the wall once was
when she steps beyond the wall she looks
looks out to her new world
a world that she has to face alone
a new life awaits her
knees hugged to her chest
tears of sorrow, pain, and death
flow down her face as she stares
stares at where there used to be a wall
a wall that she thought would protect her
protect her from the outside world
her mother, gone
father, gone
no one left to stand by her side
to hold her when she cries
she stares at nothing
the wall that was to protect her is gone
she stands up and walks to where the wall once was
when she steps beyond the wall she looks
looks out to her new world
a world that she has to face alone
a new life awaits her
