T.A.N.Y.A. …I don’t mean to hurt you… I watched in horror as Krystal ran away. “Krystal, wait—“ I protested. Aww, man! I could’ve stopped her! I thought as she ran off. I raced after her, to make sure that she didn’t get hurt. “Krystal!” I shrieked. I stood by door 5, watching Krystal run towards a guy. Blake? I silently watched the confrontation with the blue monster and Krystal. Then I saw them all flying away. “No! Krystal!” I shrieked as I brought out my Angelbow. “Angelbow!” Krystal whipped around. “Stop, Tanya! This doesn’t involve you! You don’t have to be here! Get out!” She shrieked as she slashed the arm of the blue monster. The monster finally let go of Blake, and Krystal. I watched as they plummeted towards Earth. Krystal finally caught a hold of herself, grabbing Blake and gently floating down towards Earth. …It’s because of the people I hang out with that I earn my reputation… “Tanya, why’d you follow me?” She asked. “I was gonna explain to you about why Abby did—“ “Never mind, I don’t need to know.” Krystal sighed. “Now, Blake, what happened while you were gone?” “I don’t know! That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you! I was blindfolded, handcuffed, and tied up. I couldn’t see, hear, or feel anything.” Blake said exasperatedly. “Sorry.” Krystal squeaked. “Krystal! What hap—Blake!” I heard a voice behind us. I turned around to look at who it w— “Abby! Why do you care?” Krystal snapped. Blake turned to look at me for an explanation. “Abby’s been bugging her about you for a while.” I explained. “Oh. Okay, Abby! What’s wrong with you for you to continuously torture her like this?” Blake sighed. “What? I’m just worried about Krystal, that’s all.” Abby said innocently. Krystal let out a snort. “Pssh. You just need something new to gossip about. You know how annoying it is for someone to be gossiping about you, yet you do it to others. You. Are. Such. A. Hypocrite!” She growled. I sighed. Although Krystal was correct about Abby being a hypocrite, I could never bring myself to say it to her face. Krystal’s got guts! I thought. A.B.I.G.A.I.L. …Because you mean a lot to me… I gasped. “Krystal, how could you say this to me?” I sobbed. “I’m not a hypocrite, nor do I like gossiping.” Krystal snorted. “Yeah. And who was that spreading the rumour about me dating Blake?” Blake nodded. “Yeah, we weren’t dating. And Harmony wouldn’t stop talking either. But I don’t mind her. She knows when to stop. You don’t seem to know.” He growled. “But…I can’t help it if I gossip. I don’t have any other way to let out everything I know!” I cried out. “THEN WRITE IT DOWN AND BURN IT!!!” Krystal and Blake screamed at the same time. Then Krystal stared at Blake. “How’d you know what I was going to say?” “I don’t know. I had a feeling, is all.” Blake said, confused. Krystal tipped her head to one side. “You’re weird, Blake. Very weird.” …When you cry, I’ll cry… Blake smiled. “I know I am.” Logging on Gmail tonight, I noticed a slight change in Krystal’s status. “Is busy right now. Don’t talk to me or you’ll regret it. Painfully.” And then read Blake’s. “Doing hw. Stop talking 2 me!” I quickly started a chat with the two of them. Abby says: sup? Krystal says: I’m busy, Abby. Leave me alone. Blake says: come on! You too? Ive got hw. Leave me out of this. Krystal says: lolz. I’m gone. Krystal has left. Blake has left. Abby says: Wait! I haven’t even said n e thing! Krystal has joined. Blake has joined. Krystal says: stop adding me! I don’t wanna talk! Abby says: wait! Don’t go! Blake says: wat? Wat’s so important that you have to add both of us? Abby says: im sorry 4 wut happened 2day. Krystal says: I’ll believe it when I see it. Blake says: Hmph. That’s all? U bugged us for all of that? Thx, im leavin. Krystal says: me 2. cya Abby. >.< Blake has left. Krystal has left. …When you laugh, I’ll laugh… I sighed at school. Krystal was angry at me, but so was Blake! I guess it’s because I spread a rumour, but they didn’t need to overreact… “Hey Abby.” Krystal said. “Hi…Krystal…are you still mad at me?” “Yes. But that’s because we needed to do homework. And because you don’t start rumours without confirming them first.” “But…the others convinced me to…” “That doesn’t matter. That doesn’t give you the excuse to spread a rumour about us. And none of us enjoyed it.” “Okay, okay.” I sighed. I couldn’t win against Krystal, anyways. …When you jump out of a window, I’ll laugh again… S.A.M.A.N.T.H.A. …But I just can’t make you love me… Sitting patiently and watching the fight between Krystal and Abby, I sighed. They fought constantly, and Abby was always the one provoking Krystal! I guess it really should be worth it to see Krystal punch Abby in the face! I thought quietly with a smile across my face. I watched as Blake slowly approached the girls. “Come on, Krystal. It’s not really worth it, is it?” “No, I guess not. Thanks, Blake.” Krystal said, walking away with Blake’s arm around her shoulder. “Okay, now that’s mean. I wonder why both of your statuses were busy? There wasn’t any homework last night, it was Valentine’s Day!” Abby jeered. “What would you know about the grade 8 homework?” Blake challenged. “Abby asked me. I told her that no sensible teacher would give their students homework on Valentine’s Day.” A voice spoke up from behind. “Harmony!” Blake gasped. I turned to face Nessa. “So…how’d you get these weird powers, anyways?” I asked. Nessa shrugged. “It’s not like I asked for it. This weird alien named Calle gave us powers. He said it was to protect the earth or something like that.” “So…does that mean that you don’t want the powers?” “Not really…I don’t want them, but it brings us closer together as friends.” Nessa sighed. “But it does put a lot more stress on us, plus the homework Ms. Goddard gives us…it doesn’t hurt for the monsters to give us a break every once in a while. Or maybe Ms. Goddard. Either one or the other.” “Okay, that makes a bit more sense…I think.” “It doesn’t matter if you don’t get it. What matters is that you don’t have to get involved if you don’t need to. It’s bad to be involved. Just ask Krystal. She’s being loaded with homework, and she has the alien busting to do. Don’t you think she needs a rest? Remember those days when you saw her looking really tired and she wasn’t paying attention in class? That was because she had homework to do, plus the aliens attacked. Not fun.” “Oh. Maybe you should stop doing the alien busting.” “We can’t. Then who would protect the city?” “Good point. Forget I asked.” I turned to look at Krystal and Blake. “Do you think?” The rest was too quiet for me to hear. “Nessa, what’s up with Krystal and Blake?” “Dunno. I tried talking to her last night, just to ask her about Blake, but she never answered. Like, she told me to shut up and that was it. I think she was busy doing homework on her day off from alien busting.” “Yeah, I tried talking to her and Blake, in separate chats. They both answered with ‘I’m busy’ at the same time.” I sighed. “Maybe they were both busy, like they said.” Nessa reasoned. “But Harmony said that they didn’t have homework all week. And there were no projects. What were they doing?” “Maybe they had something they didn’t hand in, like Krystal’s missed a couple of assignments and Blake’s always missing work.” “Yeah, she’s been yelled at for so many times by the teacher, it’s a miracle that she’s still found the time and patience to do it for her. Ohhhh…maybe that’s why they were busy!” “You know you just said that.” “Sorry, my train of thought comes out of my mouth so quickly, I just realise it late.” I grinned. Ring….The school bell awoke me from our conversation. N.E.S.S.A. …I don’t think that that’s really that funny… I sighed as I walked upstairs to my locker. What was going on between Krystal and Blake anyways? I turned around, seeing Krystal. “Hey Krystal?” “What?” “What’s going on between you and Blake?” There was an annoyed look across her face. “Does everyone have to ask that? We’re not dating, if that’s what you meant, we’re just…better friends than we’d show.” “So, you’re just hanging out because you’re friends?” “YES! It’s always been that way, it’s just that he asked me to the dance, big deal. There’s something new, a guy asked me to the dance. That doesn’t mean that I have to date him. What would happen if I took you guys to the dance? Would I be dating you?” “No, but—“ “Exactly. End of story.” Krystal growled as she walked away. “But—“I protested, trying to get Krystal to stay. She continued walking, completely ignoring me. I sighed quietly, just as Abby came up to me. “You tried talking to Krystal? I tried that; she got pissed, as usual.” She said sympathetically. “It seems like she’s hiding something from us…” “Yeah, she’s always snapping at us, too.” “Oh, yeah. But then maybe that’s because she doesn’t want us to know that she’s dating Blake. She’s been really protective about him recently.” “Well, duh. He’s just been kidnapped by aliens. Don’t you think she’d be at least a bit more protective of him?” Krystal slowly walked up to us. “You guys are talking about Blake, right?” Abby immediately gestured for me to start talking. “Uhm….err…” “I guess I shouldn’t have asked…” Krystal sighed. “I must be the latest gossip, because of Blake, right?” Abby sighed. “Well, duh! Where have you been recently? In a hole? Or with Blake?” Krystal’s eyes widened. “Then maybe I shouldn’t have asked. For your information, I’m not dating him!” I tipped my head to one side, in wonder. “How—“ “I listen better than I make it look like I do. Maybe you should just leave me alone!” Krystal snarled. “Krystal! I know you like Blake, but don’t you think this is a bit far, even by your standards?” Abby protested. “Abby, you know what? I think you should just leave me alone now. And my standards now, are that I don’t play to get even. I play to win.” Krystal growled, as she ran off. “What?—Krystal!” Abby protested, realising that Krystal wouldn’t turn back, anyways. I sighed, Abby was a hopeless case. I managed to catch Blake as he raced past us. “Blake—“ “What do you want now?” Blake growled. “You want to piss me off, too? Haven’t you hurt Krystal enough? What do you want with me?” “Are you dating Krystal?” Abby demanded. “Wha? Why would I be dating her?” Blake asked. …But, sure, I’ll laugh, since you’re laughing. We’re supposed to be friends, right?…

A.B.I.G.A.I.L. …Because you mean a lot to me… Abigail stared at Krystal and Blake. They were friends, and Blake had no powers, but they would both do anything for each other. Is that what love feels like? Unending loyalty to each other? I thought. The two of them looked like they could pass for twins, with the looks in their eyes and the way they acted. I stared at Harmony in surprise. How had she not been affected by the spell? And Hope, Faith and Destiny, too? I thought in wonder. Then I noticed Samantha stir, and I realised that none of the girls had been frozen. I turned to see what Krystal would do with the monsters, and she had a look of worry in her eyes. “You guys, please leave. We’ll deal with this some other time, but can you leave for now?” She pleaded. …When you cry, I’ll cry… “And also, please unfreeze my friends.” Blake added. The monsters group-huddled and talked in a low raspy voice for a few moments. Then the lighter green one, who had been harmed by Krystal, turned around and started talking. “We will not meet your demands, both you and your friend’s.” He growled. “You will fight us to the death. The winner will get their wishes.” …When you laugh, I’ll laugh… Blake and Krystal stared at each other, too shocked to reply. Then, Krystal turned around to face us. “So…what do you guys think?” She asked. “Personally, I would’ve preferred if this didn’t have to escalate into a fight. But I will gladly fight them.” She added. Tanya looked down at her feet. “I don’t wanna fight.” She said softly. “Tanya, would you want us to lose all of our friends? All of the guys you were such great friends with? Would you not want to fight this battle for them?” Krystal asked. Tanya hesitated for a moment. “Yeah, but I don’t wanna fight to the death” She said. “I don’t wanna die!” She said. …When you jump out of a window, I’ll laugh again… Nessa thought for a second, like she was convinced by Tanya’s argument. “But there’s four of us and four of them. It seems fair, doesn’t it?” Blake quickly jumped into the argument. “Hey! I’m here, too!” He protested. “Yeah, but you don’t have any powers, you’re like an ordinary human.” Krystal argued. Blake sighed. “But I’ll do all that I can to help!” He said. Krystal nodded. “But don’t get yourself killed.” She murmured. “Yeah! Because Krystal’ll never forgive herself for it!” I added nastily. Krystal shot me a glare. I immediately regretted saying that. She was technically our leader, and it was really bad to insult her. Blake nodded, ignoring my nasty comment. Whether or not he heard it, I’m not sure. I just know that it was smart to pretend that he didn’t hear it. “Alright. I’ll try not getting myself killed.” He smiled. Krystal shot him a glare, too. “I wasn’t kidding, Blake. You saw what would’ve happened to Harmony had I not interfered.” She sighed worriedly. Blake dipped his head. “Okay, I understand.” He answered. I nodded. “I’m fighting. The guys are some of the only things amusing left in the school.” I said. Krystal grinned. “Okay, majority rules. We are fighting!” She said proudly. “But, before that, Samantha, you evacuate all the girls.” She ordered. Samantha nodded and started evacuating all of the remaining girls. “Alright, you monsters. Deal’s on.” Krystal growled. “We’ll play fair. No calling on other people to help, and no running away. Also, no destroying this place. We need to keep this place in one piece.” She said. “Alright. Deal’s on.” The blue monster huffed. S.A.M.A.N.T.H.A. …But I just can’t make you love me… Sam stood still as she watched the battle unfold. The other girls had evacuated, but she stood her ground to watch. “Come on, Sam. You don’t want to get caught up in that.” Stella said. “No, I’m staying. You leave. These guys are my friends.” I said, unmoving. “Okay…your loss.” She said. …And it burns my heart that you don’t feel the flame… I saw as the fight had started, and Krystal was forcing the monsters back with ease. I don’t think the monsters are actually trying…they’re toying with her to make her waste her strength. I thought. Then I saw Krystal’s eyes glimmer. She wasn’t trying very hard, either! I realised. Maybe they girls (And Blake) did have a chance! I thought, noticing Blake. His eyes were glittering with satisfaction as he threw one punch after another. It didn’t seem like he was going to penetrate the layer of skin, but he looked happy with the results he was getting. Faster than I normally ran, I raced into the staff room and looked for a knife. As soon as I found one, I grabbed it by the handle and raced back into the gym. Screaming at Blake, I quickly threw him the knife. Krystal leapt up in his place. Catching the blade with the handle, she handed it over to Blake. …No I just can’t make you love me… “Try stabbing. It should—“ She was cut off abruptly by a blow from the monster. She flew back towards the wall and landed with a sickening thud. “Krystal!” Blake shrieked. The look on his face revealed his feelings. This is all my fault! His eyes clouded with worry as he headed towards Krystal. He handed the knife to me and said. “Here, you deal with them. I’ll tend to her.” …So hold me like you mean it, and I’ll pretend you feel it… Nodding to Blake, I grabbed the knife and headed towards the monsters, where Tanya, Abby and Nessa were fighting. “Sam?” Tanya asked as I approached them. “Yeah.” I nodded as I stabbed one monster after another. “Where are Krystal and Blake?” Abby asked. I nodded behind me, where Blake was trying to wake Krystal up. “Back there.” “What happened? I swear she was never down for a minute.” Nessa put in. “Yeah, and Blake was trying really hard to do something.” Abby smirked. Of all times! I thought. Why would she mention the two of them while our lives were at stake? Continuing our attack on the monsters, I finally heard a voice behind me. “She’s waking up!” Blake called. I threw my knife at the blue monster. “Don’t come any closer!” I called, realising that I was equipping it. “Krystal, can you hear me?” I asked worriedly. …One last time… K.R.Y.S.T.A.L. …I’d tell you my biggest secret… I shook my head in wonder. Where was I? I wondered. As the lights cleared my head, I noticed the gym and remembered everything. I got up and my legs collapsed, causing me to fall down. Hearing a grunt of amusement from Blake, I stopped trying to get up. “Don’t get yourself killed, huh?” “Don’t’ start on me now. It’s bad enough with just the wound.” I growled as I winced in pain from the injury. There was no blood, but there was bruising and it hurt. Hearing a grunt of anger from the monsters. I slowly managed to get up, avoiding the pain in my shoulder and leaning on Blake. I heard another growl, and a flash of light shined through the gym. …but would it be a secret anymore?… Looking up again, I noticed the monsters growl and run away. “Retreat!” they growled. I breathed a sigh of relief. At least our school would be safe—for another day, at least. Before they left, I noticed a flash of blue and a gasp of shock from Blake. Then, within seconds, I saw Blake disappear. “Blake!” I screeched. “NOO!” I collapsed on the ground and started crying. …I search for the one I am missing…I sighed. It was the third day that Blake had been gone, and there was still no sign of him. Maybe there really is no hope of finding him… I thought distractedly. Stop that! Blake’s still alive and you know it! As long as there’s no proof of his death, there’s always that tiny flicker of hope! A voice inside my head retaliated. “Still thinking about Blake? Don’t worry about him. He’s gone. Out of sight, out of mind. You know that, don’t you?” Abby said, breaking me out of my thoughts. “Shaddup! You’ve probably never really loved anyone, anyways. What would you know? Blake meant something to Krystal and seeing him be kidnapped without being able to do anything hurts her more than you think, ya know?” Sam growled. “I know, but this is going way to far. Krystal’s been so distracted recently, she’s failing her tests, not finishing homework, she won’t even log on Gmail to talk anymore!” Abby complained. …Because he holds a part of who I am… “Just leave me alone!” I hissed distractedly. “I miss Blake, and wherever he is, he probably knows that, too!” “Wow…I didn’t need that scolding.” Abby countered. “Abby! Just stop it and leave me alone!” I said, eyes brimming with tears. Sighing, I raced out of the gym/cafeteria and into the girls’ washroom. In the washroom, I let the tears flow. I miss Blake, and I need him back. He was the only person encouraging me in my studies and during recess…I just can’t take it anymore! I thought. Walking outside and onto the field, I saw a figure in the sky. I blinked repeatedly to clear the tears out of my eyes. Blake? “Hello, Krystal!” Blake said cheerfully. “Blake!” I cried as I ran up to him. “Whoa, Krystal…didja miss me?” “Duh!” I called as I held him close. I looked up to see the look on his face and I saw that he was smirking. Something’s up…Blake doesn’t smirk…I thought. Then I whipped around to see the blue monster from earlier standing on Stupid Rock. “What do you want now?” I growled. “Nothing. I just thought it’d be nice to see you guys reunite…” it growled. G.R.O.R.R.G. …Betrayal and hopelessness… …For the last time of your lives… I smirked as I watched the two kids reunite. “Girl, you know that the boy makes a great test subject!” I smiled. “WHAT?!” I watched anger and fury twist up her face. The boy, Blake, flinched as she growled. “Yes. The boy possesses spirit, just the spirit we needed for the phoenix spirit.” “You. Used. Him. As. A. Test. Subject?” the mixture of anger and fury was still on her face. “How could you do this to me?” She sobbed. “Krystal—I…I didn’t know a thing, I promise!” Blake tried. …Merge together to become a girl’s worst nightmare… With a smirk on my face, I unleashed a bright orange aura around the boy and watched him twist in pain. “Krystal—help!” He forced out. “Blake! I don’t know what I can do to help you!” “Just—do something! Stop--the pain! It’s burning through my veins like fire!” He complained. “Blake! I don’t want to hurt you!” She shrieked. “Just do it, if it works!” He growled. Krystal nodded. “Fine. Frostbite Blade!” She said as she unleashed her blade. “Ice Aura!” I turned to see Blake’s reaction. He sighed. “That’s a bit better. Thanks Krystal.” He had stopped shaking, and he looked content with what Krystal had done. Dangit! I growled, “This isn’t over, girl!” “Oh yeah, you stay away from Blake!” She retorted. “You wish, girl!” I growled, grabbing Blake and jumping up. “Oh, no you don’t!” She growled, leaping up with me. Hmph. Annoying pest… I thought. “Get away!”

Shadows of Doubt Pt. 2 (Brorrg, Blake, Harmony) |

B.R.O.R.R.G. …through a web of lies, I exist… Through the disguises of fake 7th graders, Zorrg turned to face Syndorrg. “That one. Isn’t she the one?” It growled, pointing to the girl who had just climbed on stage. “’One will come through the darkness and return the peace.’ Hmph. Don’t you think she’s a little young?” Grorrg growled. “I guess, but that’s probably why that traitor Calle chose them.” I growled. “But where’s the Light? That traitor Calle took four of them, and the fifth one, well…I guess we lost the last one.” Syndorrg growled. “Freeze the males except for the one on the stage. I believe he will be useful in the close future.” Grorrg ordered. I nodded, unleashing a powerful wave across the room.
…but how do you live with a web of lies?… Immediately, the two on stage noticed the beam and stopped singing. The girl nodded to three others and they changed outfits in a burst of light. Then the girl turned to us. “You guys! What do you want with us?” She called. “Where’s the Light?” I growled. “What light?” She asked. “You have it, this isn’t a joke.” Syndorrg growled, unsheathing his claws and changing into his Metamedian form. “Hand it over!” It then charged towards the girl with the big, puffy hair and held his claws at her throat. “Abby!” The girl with the twin pigtails cried. “Seriously, we don’t have what you want, just please, let Abby go!” The girl I think was the leader pleaded. “Shaddup! We know you have it!” Zorrg growled. It then nodded to Syndorrg, who raced over to the boy onstage, who had frozen in fear and surprise. “Hand over the Light or this boy dies.” Syndorrg growled. “Blake!” The girl shrieked. “Krystal, you deal with the creeps. I’ll help Abby.” One girl said. So her name was Krystal, huh? I muttered. “Alright.” The girl named Krystal agreed as she raced toward the boy. She leapt up onstage and brought out a blue sword. She snuck up behind Syndorrg and slashed its torso. Syndorrg collapsed to the ground. “You alright?” She muttered to the boy. “Hm.” He grunted. Syndorrg, who had quickly recovered from the attack, leapt up to his feet and called out. “Wraith of Graith!” pointing to the boy. A snake leapt out of its hand, attacking the boy. He froze in fear. B.L.A.K.E. …If you tell the truth… “Blake!” Krystal yelped. “Graggh!” The monster howled in pain, letting go of Abigail. I didn’t know her, but she didn’t seem nice to me…bugging Krystal so much…little did I know that my view of her was just about to change. “Krystal!” Abby called to Krystal, who had positioned herself between the monster and I. Abby quickly intercepted the attack with her shield. “Blake, you’d better be okay, or else Krystal will kill me!” I smirked. Of course they’d be suspicious.
…there’s nothing to remember… “Thanks. I’d never have been able to get that snake.” Krystal said sarcastically. “No prob. Now what’s going on between you two?” Abby asked, not noticing the sarcastic tone in Krystal’s voice, or probably not caring. “Is now really a great time to ask?” I growled. “I agree.” Krystal said as she slowly nodded to the other girls. I retreated to the end of the stage, where the master light switches are. “Frostbite Blade!” ”Lightning Lash!” “Heartbreaker!” “Angelbow!” “The Light!” One of the monsters growled, pointing at the blade in Krystal’s hand. “And the others!” Another growled. Quickly, I flicked the light switch, making the lights turn on, which angered the monsters. Nice move, genius. I thought to myself. The monsters made a run for the stage, where the lights had shorted out. Krystal shot me a look of gratitude and nodded, just as I crept behind her. “So smart, Blake.” She muttered. “Get the girl!” One monster growled, pointing at Krystal. Was she always the target for bad guys? I thought. Krystal stepped forward. “Let’s see you try!” She growled as the other three girls fanned out around her, protecting me. “Ice Aura!” Krystal shrieked, swinging her blade and watching an icy blue aura come out of it. One monster hissed at Krystal and flicked its tail at the attack, sending it flying backwards, towards us! Krystal tensed, and Abby stepped forward with her huge hammer. “Heartbreaker, grow!” She hissed, making the giant hammer grow larger. The full blast sent all of us flying. Krystal finally reacted and picked me up, narrowly avoiding the blast. Landing on a bench by the wall, I quickly settled down, recovering from the shock, and watching as Krystal’s eyes clouded with worry. “Blake, this shouldn’t be happening to you. You weren’t meant to be involved in this mess.” She murmured sadly. I shifted uncomfortably and slipped, falling off the bench. Krystal looked on in surprise and caught me seconds before I landed. Seconds after she lifted me up and brought me away from the bench, we heard a loud explosion. Krystal turned around to see what had happened and we saw what used to be the bench we were standing on. It had been demolished and what was left of it was then incinerated. “Now, that was a close one.” I muttered. Krystal grunted in amusement. She turned around to face the monster, once again. “Name and business!” She demanded. “Syndorrg, Grorrg, and Zorrg. We’re here to retrieve the Four Orbs that Andorrg stole, he’s better known as Calle, to you earthlings.” One of the monsters growled. “And I’m Brorrg.” “Calle? As in the psychic?” Tanya asked. “He’s the one who gave us these powers to defeat creeps like you in the first place!” “Krystal…what’s going on?” I muttered. Krystal nodded to show that she heard me, but she didn’t reply. “Abby! Cover us!” She called, ignoring the smug look of knowing on Abby’s face. Abby nodded and stood in front of us, protecting us from any attack with her weapon. “Is it that bad?” I asked. “Blake, I understand that you’re confused about what happened. But we’ll tell you what happened.” Krystal said. “Over the summer, the four of us were at the STC and this random dude stopped us. He said that his name was Calle. He told us that we were the four meant to have ownership of the four orbs.” Krystal paused, hearing a low growl from one of the monsters. They looked like they were about to attack, but one of the monsters silenced them with a glare. “And he also said that we had to destroy every alien and monster who threatened the safety of our city. He also mentioned a prophecy a couple of times.” “Yeah. ‘One will come through the darkness and return the peace.’” Abby put in. “There’s also a side prophecy, little known to humans. ‘Two will fight, one torn between loyalty and love, another between friendship and trust.;” One monster growled. “WHAT?!” the girls shrieked, almost all at once. H.A.R.M.O.N.Y. …If you die before me… Crouching from where the guys had been frozen earlier, I looked around. What’s going on? I thought. “Hope! Faith! Destiny!” I hissed, hoping that my friends could hear me before the monsters did. I heard Hope and Faith grunt in reply, but I saw Destiny across the gym, to afraid to reply. “Harmony, what’s going on?” Hope asked. I shrugged. “Beats me. I only see those—“ I said, pointing to the four monsters, and Blake, Nessa, Krystal, Abigail, and Tanya. “What’s with their outfits?” Faith said. “And what happened to the guys?” Destiny signalled. I shrugged, completely confused by the situation.
…ask if you can take a friend…
Noticing the weird monsters for the first time, Faith was about to shriek before Hope and I clamped our hands over her face. “What are you doing?” I hissed. “We don’t know what these people are capable of doing!” Hope added. I strained my ears to hear what the monsters and the girls (And Blake) were talking about. “Wait, so what do you mean by the four orbs?” I heard Blake ask. “And why do you want them so badly?” Krystal added. I noticed one of the monsters flick their ears. I stayed still, hoping that they wouldn’t notice us. Then another monster nodded. “The Four Orbs are an important part of our culture. Calle stole them because he believed that something was wrong on your planet and he needed to have someone else defend it. Our culture is normally recognized by our dedication to war and death, but that is why we are hired to defend your planet. We always know who to trust, before Calle decided to change things up on our planet and affect yours.” The orange monster growled. I shrank back. The monsters were hideous and ugly! Why were they here in the fist place? I wondered. Turns out I wasn’t the only person to think that. “But why’d you guess here? Just because Calle went to Earth, doesn’t mean that he’d choose this place, out of all the places. How’d you know that it would be in this city, this school?” Blake asked. The blue monster turned to reply. “We’ve sent our slaves all over Earth to check where the Orbs have gone. And the only places where the slaves never came back were here; this city, and the Arctic.” He huffed. The Arctic? Huh. I wonder why? I snorted, then realised that it was louder than usual, and the monsters and students turned to look at me. “Harmony!” Blake whispered, loud enough for me to hear. I didn’t react, because I was too scared to. The light green monster glared at me, then headed towards me. I guess that was then when I shifted, and heard the gasp from Krystal and Blake, coincidentally at the same time. I stared at them. They looked really worried, but I wonder if it was for them or me. Blake is mine! I thought with a glare. Krystal doesn’t deserve him! I added angrily. Hope and Faith flinched by my side, pulling me out of my thoughts. “Thanks, Harmony. You’re gonna get us all killed.” Hope growled sarcastically. I looked up, just in time to see the light green monster walk towards me. I gasped and shrank back from his gaze. He was really scary, and I feared him. Staring past him, I shot a look of horror at Blake. Blake must’ve noticed it, because at that moment, he nudged Krystal and murmured something in her ear. As soon as she nodded, she slowly walked towards the monster. Swinging the blade at the monster, she scared it off in a single blow. I shrank back again, feeling a cold blast of air from her blade. “Sorry.” Krystal muttered. Nodding to the others, I ran off, with Hope and Faith behind me. I think Destiny noticed us getting up, because she ran out through the other door. I didn’t turn back to see what was going on, but I think I should’ve.
