A Moment To Last
The secret to life slipping through The swelling welts of pale flesh Slow at first, Just a drop A drip, a spill, a mess Each drop a single moment in time A moment to be lost, A moment left Crimson ribbons wither down an arm The smallest of memories lost to the pool Pouring, a silent torrent, the river of red Deeper and deeper, again and again Another slash, Another regret More memories that the mind wills to forget Sent to the pool, Feeding the end Swaying, Falling, Tumbling No longer able to stand Pain upon pain, Fear upon fear Sorrow slips into the emptiness thats here Blackness enfolds, captures, takes hold Moments lost, Memories fade, Life is thrown away The will of a heart, Broken apart, Shattered into confusion Reflecting itself, Every other, But nothing at all Contradiction, Loneliness, Betrayal Nothing left to say, Nothing to be done Let the secret drip away, A little more each time Become a little closer to the end, Stop, Play the game again Dance with death then back away The wound is sealed but not the pain All alone, Missing soul, Left abandoned no where to go Went a little to far, The last step, The last time Never to reappear, Given time to leave again No one will follow, Eyes will pass, Unnoticed, It will be her last
