Inner Workings of EK Acid
Roleplay Post Examples

(note that this first one was an entry post for a roleplay, so the vampire inside it wasn't actually a character - I'm not a powerplayer or godmoder anything, don't worry.)

"Saint Aley" the Vampire Hunter

Sheep dog, standing in the rain
Bull frog, doin' it again
Some kind of happiness is measured out in miles
What makes you think you're something special when you smile?
Childlike - no one understands
Jack knife - in your sweaty hands
Some kind of innocence is measured out in years
You don't know what it's like to listen to your fears
You can talk to me, you can talk to me
You can talk to me
If you're lonely you can talk to me.

The music strummed through the wires, through the little earbud headphones and into Aley's head as she sat on a park bench. She stared upwards, to the sky, and watched the stars. She pretended to be able to see shapes in them, to be able to see them move and dance and twinkle but she knew just as well as anyone else that the stars didn't work that way. Still, she pretended. She pretended she saw a bird, a dog, a bear, anything and everything. She didn't want to look away because she knew that, if she stared up into the stars and sunk into her music nothing bad would happen. She wouldn't see the vampire skulking in the shadows and -

Oh, damn. That meant she'd already noticed he was there.

With a sigh Aley rotated the volume knob down on her MP3 player so that she could hear the world around her better. She didn't move, though - simply waited. To the vampire, she looked like little more than a University student who had wandered into the wrong park to stargaze in. He'd creep up on her and sit down and either a; attack instantly, or b; try to pass off as a normal human being and ask her out on a date or something as lame as that.

Sure enough, the vampire's shadow cast over Aley's still form. Leaves rustled underfoot and he moved with an inhuman grace to sit on the bench next to her, trying to seem nonchalant while Aley was sure his little vampire brain was going screwy with hunger. Whatever. Aley could act nonchalant, too. Saint Aley was the goddamn queen of Nonchalant.

From the corner of her eyes she noticed that the vamp gave her a curious look - most likely wondering why Aley's pulse hadn't increased, why her heart wasn't racing from the threat of a strange man sitting next to her in the middle of the night, with no witnesses and no means for escape. But other than her eyes, Aley was completely still, completely calm, just... there.

"So, uh... What brings you here?" the Vampire said, and Aley's lip curled up in disgust. He was going to go for the "act normal" approach, and she hated when they did that.

She finally looked to the side, at the vampire, and took note. No wonder he was going for the lamest attempt in the Vampire Handbook - he couldn't be more than a few months into vampirehood. His skin was pale and vaguely bluish in the moonlight and his features were actually quite nice in a nerdy, bookworm sort of way - which, sadly, was just Aley's type.

Figures the cute ones have to go burn in Hell, Aley sighed inwardly.

The vampire scooted a little closer to her, his eyes practically melting out of his head as Aley turned her neck back to its former position - looking upwards - and exposed a little flesh through the wrappings of her multicolored scarf. He scooted just a tiny bit closer, little by little so that someone (who wasn't Aley) wouldn't even notice. But Aley noticed, and she mentally urged him to scoot just a little closer.

He did. He opened his mouth and Aley assumed it was to speak rather than bite her, because a little squeak that could've been the word "I" or "Are" erupted from his vocal chords just before Alley's hand broke free from her pocket and sank a crudely sharpened stick into his chest.

The Nerdy Vampire that Never Will Be immediately burst into a puff of ash to be swept away by the wind. Aley smiled wanly, looked at the area where he'd been sitting, and spun the volume control on her MP3 player back up to full blast. She let out a little sigh and pretended to be just noticing that someone had been sitting next to her.

"I'm sorry," she said quietly. "I wasn't listening."

Big man - walking in the park
Wigwam - frightened of the dark
Some kind of solitude is measured out in you
You think you know me but you haven't got a clue.
You can talk to me, you can talk to me
You can talk to me
If you're lonely, you can talk to me...

(The song lyrics here are from the Beatles' "Hey Bulldog", by the way. I highly recommend you go you Youtube and put "Hey Bulldog" in the search box and have a listen. It's a very gear song and I think it sets the mood for the above post quite well.)

I'll get more eventually. :/
