The mourning ghost

Years have passed, and I'm still here, mourning. As time had stopped for me, I'm bound to this place forever. Strolling in the fields surrounding the accursed tower, where my destiny had begun, and ended also. The place, where my suffering began.

I remember clearly the day of our engagement. It was the morning of a beautiful spring day. The snow has melted even on the surrounding hills. I was happy for our bond was official now. We planned the wedding for the summer, and were busy with the preparations. Yin's mother, that was the name of my fiancée, was talking about the food and drinks she planned for the feast, and my mother was trying to get the best dresses for me and my Yin to wear. She even brought a tailor from the town, whom she had known for a long time. The days have passed, and Yin, as well as the weather, became brighter by the day as the wedding drew close.

On that decisive day I was the happyest man ever lived in our village. Everithing was prepared for the evening for the ceremony. The priest arrived on the previous day, and was our guest, the women were cooking all day, and the men were carpentering the tables and benches. As by custom, I was forbidden to see my bride this day, so I remained in my room, excited. The time of the ceremony came, and I went to the site. There stood the priest, and my lovely bride was waiting for me. She was most beautiful! I don't remember any of the ceremony, was too nervous. When I came to from my dazzlement we were married!

The feast was gorgeous, and we had a great time, when the night sky became even darker. Almost as dark as the inside of a cauldron in a lightless room. Smoke arose from the dance field, and a man was standing there.
"I came for her!", je pointed at Yin "And noone can stop me from taking her."
I pulled her behind me to protect her, when some strange words left the mouth of the strange man, and a jet of green light came forward from his foreheld finger. I could move no longer. The other might be under the same curse or were just so frighten didn't move either. He came to me, and grbbed my beloved, and they vanished amidst the newly rinsing smoke.

How much minutes or hours have passed, I don't know. When I could move again, I was shocked. My father came to me, and gave me his dagger.
"You have to go, and rescue her. That man was an evil wizard, Shuang, who lives beyond the hills in his tower. Beware, he is strong, but the just is with you, son!"

Next day I started my journey. It took several days to get past the hills. There were fields all around, and a solitary tower in the middle. Above the tower, like it was always raining, the darkest clouds gathered. I was afraid, but started to play my flute. It's sound gave me courage, and I could move forward. Few days later I reached the tower. I was wrong, there was no sigth of rain anywhere. Just dark clouds. The huge gate was opened halfway, as Shuang was waiting for me. I couldn't have even moved the gate myself, for it was at least ten man in hight, and two or three wagons could go in adjacent.

I stepped in, and felt so small. The whole tower was one gigantic room. There were gold everywhere, but no sign of life. Then I saw Shuang next to a table. He was bend over it and do something, what I couldn't see. I drew my dagger, and sneaked behind him. Then I saw, what was on the table. My once beautiful, beloved cut open and chained to the table. The anger rose in me, and stabbed Shuang in the back. He did not even blink, as turned towards me.
"So, you came, my dinner!"
I was shocked by his words. He pushed me away from him, and I saw something in his eyes. They became red! They were no normal eyes. My father was wrong. He was not a wizard, nor a man. He was a dragon! Right in fornt of my own eyes he changed, and became a dragon of the darkest shadows! He tore off my left arm in an instant, and engulfed it. As I was trying to stand up, he moved again, and bit my left leg off too. I fell back on the stone floor, unable to move.
"Not so fast, little dinner, I want to play with you! First stay there for a moment, I have to finish my breakfast." Shuang said, and turned towards the table. I was unable to move, as some ropes made from mere shadow tied me up. I was forced to watch, as it ate my love. Than he turned to me.
"Now, little dinner, let's run! As fast as you can!"
The shadow ropes were gone, and I tried to crawl out of there. I got out of the gate and Shuang was still not after me. I foolishly thought that I was free. And came a sudden cracking sound and darkness.

When I came to, I was in front of the tower. The tower was burnt down, and empty. No treasure, just few solid shadow-scales. Somebody has defeated Shuang. Somehow I got my arms and legs back. I tried to go back to my village, but wasn't able to. I wasn't able to save my Yin, and died trying to. I was only a ghost now, bound there by the curse of Shuang. Sometime I see peope come by, and if they are not scared of me, I tell them my tale. Just like you, traveller. Shall I play you a melody? My Yin loved it very much! Listen, and please, do not forget us! Share my pain and sorrow while I play it, and mourne with me for a moment, in silence...
