Sweet Sorrow

Note: This is a Noah x Rex [Generator Rex] fanfiction

It was one of those colder days in the providence base. Rex absolutely loathed the frosty weather, almost as much as he despised being captivated in here.

Sneaking out of the base was a lengthy and monotonous act. They had to be inaudible when sneaking out; there was no need to attract any attention. Rex and Noah groped their way out, blindly caressing the rounds of the iron gates, and arrived straight outside, smoothing the creases and folds of their jackets.

“Well, Noah. Where to? “Rex questioned.

Noah chuckled, his blond hair ruffling in the slight breeze. “Let’s just…walk.”

The wind took a turn and became rougher as time passed by. Noah turned his head towards Rex, seeing his partner in crime shuddering in the blustery weather. He smiled lightly, slipping off his green jacket and draping it over Rex’s trembling shoulders nonchalantly.

Rex flushed a bright, rosy color and wrapped it around his pale neck. He thanked the heavens that the coat obscured his mortifying expression and nestled into it, inhaling Noah’s sugary, satin aroma.

Over time, the wind was thrashing more furiously, causing their once languid stroll to be a struggle with the domineering blasts of air.

Noah and Rex were forced to take shelter, in a wrecked, ransacked shack.

“Wow that was some wind, huh?” Rex mused, warily removing Noah’s jacket from his neck.

Silence was the only response.

Rex felt a warm body embracing against his from the back, and he instantly stiffened. Velvety smooth hands rested on his back, grazing down until they met Rex’s tiny, quivering palms, and seized at them lustily. Noah’s fingers gently intertwined with Rex’s, grasping with ample force. He felt, through their touching skin, a tender warmth spreading throughout Rex’s face to his entire body.

“N-noah, what are you doing?”

“Shh, my hands are cold.” The blonder mumbled, pressing his chin familiarly on Noah’s slim shoulder, nuzzling at his neck.

“Ahh, okay then.” Rex replied tentatively, shocked and perplexed by the unnecessary contact.

How innocent.

“Uh, Noah… are-are you warm enough?” He stuttered out, blushing more feverishly by the second.

Noah smirked, spotting the colour on his face, and murmured beneath his breath.

“Cute.”

“H-huh?”

“Nothing, nothing.”

Noah withdrew his arms from Rex’s figure, and cupped his face, ignoring the receptive pleas that spurted out of his mouth.

“Rex”

“Y-yeah?”

“I love you.”

“I know, Noah, I know.”

Flames

The scorching flame from the metallic lighter gave enough light to see the frightened expression on Concetto D'Avanzo's face. He was gagged, and the rough rope around his wrists and ankles burned marks onto his exposed skin. Sweat dripped down his forehead in stringy drops, as he concentrated on the flicker of fire that was nearing his nose.

Arianna laughed, seeing the foolish look on her husband's face. She taunted him some more, waving the blazing light barely an inch from Concetto's skin, before closing the lighter and turning her back on him.

Concetto's usual abusive demeanour was gone; he whimpered like a tiny puppy, and wrestled against the binds that attached him to a wooden chair. Muffled noises, presumably pleas, flew out from his mouth.

"You can't escape," Arianna said, with a hint of tiredness. "You didn't know, but I'm an expert at rope-tying. An assassin has to be. "She turned to face him, breathing in the fright on his face.

She bought out a tiny knife, sharpened and glistening in the dark. Arianna held it against his finger, and drew ruby red beads of blood. She bought it up close, almost admiring the liquid.

Arianna glanced at the antique watch on her wrist, her face wrapped up in disgust.

"Of course, I don't have enough time. Guess a simple death will suffice. "

The look on Concetto's face relaxed, his eyes forming two half moons.

"But, not before I have a little fun. ~"

Arianna smiled blissfully, splashing the contents of a metal jug onto Concetto, as if she was a child, merely watering the plants. A horrid smell filled the air. Once again, she flipped open her lighter, bringing its flame close the puddle of fluid by the leg of the chair. She watched, exhilarated, as flames consumed her husband, the wood only causing a brighter fire.

She swiftly doused the flame with water and sand, keeping Concetto's consciousness intact. He gasped, as the water ran across the burn wounds. The sand slipped between his eyelids, and was sucked up through his nostrils.

Arianna didn't hesitate.

Slit.

Concetto's final breathe escaped his lips.

Valentine's Day

Over time, he grew to be quite knowledgeable about her.

Her favourite foods, colors, seasons, and even her shoe size was memorized and implanted into his brain. Spending hours digging through her trash did have its rewards.

He entered the tiny café, breathing in the sensual smell of cinnamon, toasty coffee, and Charlotte's aroma, careful that he remained hidden. He sat down, as far away from her as he can. Shielding his face with the menu, he looked at Charlotte from an angle with loving eyes. Her luscious strawberry blonde tresses were tied into two ponytails, each resting on her shoulder. Her slim and petite figure was dressed in frills and bows, complementing her body extravagantly. He watched, dazed, as Charlotte drank her cocoa, smiling and laughing with her mother and father. He averted his glance back to the menu, and flipped through the glossy pages, reaching the Valentine's Day specials.

Ahh, that's right. Today was Valentine's Day.

He smiled mindlessly to himself, as he visualized a Valentine's Day with Charlotte.

They will be sipping a drink from a single cup, exactly what hopelessly in love couples would do. He'll then casually reach for her hand, spotting a slight blush on Charlotte's face. Charlotte then would giggle and he'll also laugh along with her, their voices in complete harmony.

Returning back to reality from his daydream, he continued to observe her, an affectionate look fixed onto his face.A chocolate sundae had arrived at Charlotte's table, her face showering in glee. He motioned for a waiter.

"Give me what she's having."

The waiter, nodded, complying.

The moment his dessert was delivered by the waiter, he grabbed the metal spoon with no hesitation, and ate 'along' with Charlotte, each bite at the same pace.

He stopped though, silently capturing Charlotte's glowing face on film. She looked as lovely as usual, her eyes crinkled in delight.

Disregarding his sundae, his eyes followed Charlotte's every move, as she and her parents left the café.

He knew exactly what to give her, just to commemorate this special day.

Reveries

WARNING: Minor gore/violence.

Two trains and one bus. Estimated time, 2 hours. Exactly 120 minutes for RG to set his mind in motion. He was absent-mindedly staring out the blurred windows, his legs crossed. He was unable to concentrate; the children behind him were a nuisance. RG impatiently scrolled through a previous email he received. It was simple; a single statement and an attached image of a map.

RG knew that everything was going to happen tonight. But how come that paranoid feeling wouldn't disappear? He placed his fingertips on his temple, rubbing in a circular motion. He was tired, spending the entire previous week gathering information. The drowsy rocking of the train didn't help either…

She was strapped onto the wooden table, completely immobilized. Silver clasps were tightened onto her wrists and ankles. Her brother was behind her, she could hear his heart thumping in anticipation. A silver blade descended onto her neck. Instantly, everything was sucked out of her. She couldn't talk; a choke was stuck between her throat. RG shrieked, withdrawing his blade. He cackled like a maniac, enjoying the aura of despair radiating from RGla. He turned his back on her, retrieving something from the black sports bag he carried.

It was an oddly shaped contraction. RG giggled insanely, as he blissfully removed the shackles from RGla's left wrist. He attached her forearm securely onto the wooden base of the device, and forcefully stuck her middle finger into the tiny slot, placing the clippers on top of her fingernail.

"No! Stop! Let me go…LET ME GO!" RGla's hoarse voice came out abruptly.

Ignoring her sister's plea, he stood up, positive that she couldn't wrench her finger out. His breathing was shallow, his eyes bloodshot. Sweat drops fell from RGla's forehead. She could see her brother's face, hysterical and demented. It matched the look of a true psychopath, right before he murdered his victim. She tried, with as much force as she can muster, to pull her finger out. It was impossible. Defeated, RGla slumped down, fear vibrated through her body. RG eyed the lever connected to her trapped finger. Without a moment of hesitation, he slammed it down.

RGla screeched, her entire body started to tense up up. Her muscles contracted, as her anguishing shriek continued. She huffed, eyes dropping. She glanced at her enclosed finger.

Her fingernail was gone.

Instead, a layer of fresh blood replaced it, dripping down from the crook of her finger.

--

All ten of her fingernails were gone. RG stuffed her mouth with bundled fabric, enough for her to keep silent. Without a warning of some sort, he brought down a blade, slashing it through his sister's succulent skin. For a moment, everything froze. That was, until, RG brought up her dismembered limb into the light. This sight of her own leg, its veins showing, brought trauma to the already distressed RGla. Her body shook, slightly at first, until it became devastatingly obvious. Tears spilled from her eyes, her face twisted into indescribable pain. She breathed in excruciating breathes, through the thick cloth.

RG merely laughed, barely done what he had started. He smothered coarse salt over the wound, blocking RGla's pitiful begging from his ears. He sat, exhausted, watching as his own sister, drift into unconsciousness.
--

" All passengers are to leave the train in an orderly fashion…"

RG awoke, clammy and numb. He followed the other travellers, and stepped out into the gleaming sunlight. Checking his watch, he smiled.

One hour and 15 minutes left.
