The Boissel manor has become dusty, old, and thoroughly abandoned. The windows are now boarded, masking the beautiful stained glass windows of the ballroom. The sun doesn't shine through the windows anymore. The mother's garden has overgrown and climbed the walls, it's known to the local children as a haunted manor. And although tragedy occurred in this home, no ghosts remain.
The family had connections and relationships with the high-class individuals of their port town, putting them in a comfortable place on the social-class ladder. However, a man held a vendetta against this family. For the father of the household had been in a heated fight with a man named Simon Rocher, injuries from the fight had essentially lead to Simon's death several months later. It was unknown to the father that he may have caused the man's death, however Rocher's son, Louis, believed it had been the fight, and therefore spent years plotting to avenge his father's death.
The man entered the manor late in the night years later, with only the cold-blooded intention of killing every family member belonging to the person who had killed his father. Aimé, one of the children, had been hidden under the bed with his older sister Annette. They had heard and witnessed the brutal murder of their family members, their mother, Mélodie, father, Victor, and sister, Sherise, among other siblings. Aimé had begun a coughing fit due to his illness, and they immediately heard a silence in the house. Annette, fearing for the life of her brother and herself, took him by the hand and lead him out the window, climbing down the trellis like they had done with their siblings so many times before while playing. They had run for miles, eventually collapsing onto the ground near the road. They were found and taken to an orphanage, however Aimé passed away soon after due to his illness. Annette's terrible memories of the past were repressed, and she was told that her family had abandoned her for ever-changing reasons due to her care-taker's speculation.
