DRAGONBALL (a movie idea)
Thousands of years ago, Lord Piccolo reigned over the earth with an iron fist. Incapable of defeating the god, the 6 great masters of the world banded together to seal him within a jar using a sacred technique. From there, humanity has lived on peacefully.
It is now the year of the Dragon and a 15-year old orphan named Goku trains hard in the martial arts, following the wishes of his departed grandfather. Although it has been 3 years since the murder of Grandpa Gohan, the murderer has yet to be found. Goku protects Gohan's most treasured item, a four-starred ball. Living with Goku are his best friend Krillin and Krillin's elder sister Launch, who has taken guardianship for the duo.
One day, a young woman named Bulma appears, she says that she is searching for the 7 ancient dragonballs, explaining that the one who brings together all 7 will be granted a single wish. Entranced by the idea, Krillin persuades Goku so that the two will join her adventure. Reluctantly, Goku decides to go with Bulma and Krillin.
Along the journey, the trio meet up with a bandit in the desert named Yamcha. Yamcha fights Goku and Krillin, seeking to take their dragonballs from them until he meets Bulma (though accidentally breaking the Dragon Radar). He leads them to the castle of the infamous "Ox King", a champion weight-lifter who owns a Dragonball. Goku and the Ox King's daughter seem to hit it off and agree on someday being together. Before they leave, the Ox King reveals the location of the 4th and 5th Dragonball: a tournament held by the descendant of one of the great masters and the former champion, Roshi.
The World Martial Arts Tournament, held every three years, is the recent update of what was once a colosseum-like game. Through the ages, the rules have changed to a specific set held sacred. The winner is given wealth or a favor. Previously, the consistent winner of tournaments was a master of the arts named Roshi who fought his rival and former co-student, Crane. However, Roshi retired and the title was given to "Jackie Chun" who bested Roshi's and Crane's students. Chun was eventually defeated by Tienshinhan, the newest pupil of Crane. For the past two tournaments Tienshinhan has claimed two favors but has yet to cash them in.
Goku, Bulma and Krillin head off to the island of Master Roshi to get their 4th Dragonball.
Three years ago, Lord Piccolo was freed from his prison by a mercenary named Mai under the order of Pilaf, a man who wished to rule the world with Piccolo's assistance. After being freed, Piccolo turned on Pilaf, stating that his wishes were sinful and therefore he must die. Pledging her allegiance to Piccolo, Mai sought to learn of this demon who acted as a nobleman. Piccolo sought to find the legendary Dragonballs to restore his former being; due to his weakness from lack of recooperation, he and Mai failed to get a third Dragonball. Since then, Mai has nursed him.
Piccolo, using his magical powers, summons a trio of dragon-like demons. He tells one to scout the world for the Dragonballs and report their locations to him. He then trains with the other two to strengthen himself.
Arriving at Master Roshi's island, Goku and Krillin are offered training under the condition that they bring him a beautiful caretaker. Bulma is given the last Dragonball and explains that she will safeguard them until 3 years are up and they can compete at the World Martial Arts tournament. Goku, however, demands that the four-star Dragonball stay with him. Agreeing to this, Bulma takes the three other Dragonballs back home with her and brings Launch under Krillin's request. Goku and Krillin begin to train under Roshi. They do not notice a flying being in the air above them.
One night (2 years later), while fixing the Dragon Radar, the alarms at Capsule Corp. go off. The security guards are taken out one by one and the intruder is identified as Mai and one of Piccolo's demons. Meanwhile, Piccolo and the other two demons are at Roshi's island. The first, Tambourine, kills Krillin in the ensuing struggle. Goku manages to defeat Tambourine and Roshi defeats the third demon easily. Piccolo challenges Roshi to a fight. The duo bust down the safe-room containing the Dragonballs and despite Bulma's attempt to stop them, they steal the Dragonballs. Incapable of reaching Roshi's island via phone, she rushes with her father's jet to get there only to find Piccolo defeat but not kill Roshi. Piccolo takes the four-star ball, knocking the weakened Goku aside. Roshi tells Piccolo that he wont get the final Dragonball since it's guarded by a spiritual barrier that can only be opened by the tournament master. Interested in seeing the full strength of humans, Piccolo states that he will enter the tournament and makes a deal, if he is defeated, he will hand over the 6 Dragonballs. Goku agrees to these terms, despite Roshi's pleas.
It is now the tournament and the participants ready themselves for the rounds. The master of the tournament is revealed to be a hearty, dark-skinned, fat man named Popo. Goku has entered and Roshi states that he will be sitting out due to his age. A familiar young woman has entered the tournament along with Yamcha. Mai and Piccolo have both entered the tournament with Mai wearing garb similar to Piccolo's. Former champions Tienshinhan and Jackie Chun have also entered. Tien's master Crane has also entered.
Goku's opponent is the legendary King Chappa, master of the 1000 Hands Strike. Goku confidently deals with Chappa's technique, blocking many hand strikes. He fools Chappa into thinking he's running out of steam by lowering himself to the ground while blocking. However, he sweeps Chappa's legs with a kick, side-kicks Chappa out to the edge of the ring and finishes him with a sommersault kick to the stomache, landing him outside the ring.
Yamcha faces Ranfan who tries seducing him into a loss. Yamcha is distracted, but adamant to keep fighting. When Bulma recognizes Yamcha and yells to him, he manages to unleash his wolf-fang fist, overpowering Ranfan until she surrenders.
Jackie Chun fights Namu, who has come to the tournament for the favor of obtaining water for his village. Chun counters Namu's sky-attack then uses a favor from Popo to give the village water. Namu disguises himself as Roshi to keep people from suspecting Chun is Roshi.
The woman from before reveals herself to Goku, who remembers that she's Chichi. She fights with Bacterian, the smelliest man on earth. After her round, the pair talk over things while Mai defeats a man in a pink martial arts top. Piccolo defeats his opponent in 3 seconds. Seemingly never moving from his starting spot.
The semi-finals begin and the first round is Yamcha vs. Tienshinhan. Despite learning a few techniques from Ox King, Yamcha fails to defeat Tienshinhan's Dodon Ray. As a result, Tien can disable Yamcha's limbs and throw him out of the ring.
Chichi fights Mai with all of her heart but fails to really do much since she is too slow. Mai, on the other hand, is fast but not too powerful. Mai has the advantage, wittling her opponent down but Chichi eventually manages to counter an attack from Mai and throw her out of the ring.
Goku faces Jackie Chun despite Chun warning Goku that they should hold off their match for a while. Goku and Chun manage to counter each other's techniques time after time until an eclipse happens. Because of the eclipse, Goku starts fighting like a berserker and eventually transforms into a large ape. Chun continuously talks with Goku until Goku manages to pull himself back to normal. Goku then fights Chun down, revitalized while Chun is tired out, and wins.
Piccolo fights Crane who utilizes the techniques used by Tienshinhan. Despite the Master's skill, he is defeated easily by Piccolo, who dodges and side-steps away from all of the attacks.
Finals begin with Goku fighting Tienshinhan. Tien is stronger than Goku and seemingly faster, countering Goku's techniques. Goku charges a Kamehameha wave, the pinnacle of the training he received from Roshi. Tienshinhan attempts to counter with Dodon Ray but fails, getting blasted full on. With both Goku and Tien exhausted, Goku removes his undershirt, revealing that it was actually weighted. Goku has the edge over Tien and outspeeds him. As Goku is about to finish Tien, he uses the Solar Flare technique and blinds Goku for a few moments. He jumps into the sky and stays afloat, showing off his near-mastery of Crane's "Bukujutsu" technique, then uses his Kikoho Canon. Goku narrowly escapes the attack, leaping into the air. He then sommersault-kicks Tien, forcing him to lose focus while he attacks. Goku and Tien fight each other on the way down with Goku managing to get onto Tien and use him as a springboard. Goku wins via ring-out.
Goku attempts to persuade Chichi to not fight Piccolo but she is determined to show how strong her love is for him. Piccolo senses that his opponent isn't quite that strong and repeatedly asks her to surrender. Her attacks have little effect on him, with him even taking hits everywhere except the face. She comes to realize her opponent's strength and puts even more power into her hits, fueling her attacks with everything she has. He blocks and restrains her attacks, twisting and striking her legs and arms to stop her, almost torturing her while she struggles. She surrenders and is carried out of the ring by Goku.
Goku starts his bout with Piccolo after staying with Chichi until the next day. Goku begins with a direct attack, managing to outspeed Piccolo and knock him around the ring. Piccolo laughs as he realizes Goku's identity. Goku inquires and Piccolo reveals that 6 years ago, he began a search for the Dragonballs. During that journey, he fought an older man named "Gohan" who gave him a challenge. After a long, hard battle, Piccolo managed to finish Gohan off with a Makankosappo Beam, shooting him through the heart. Goku realizes that the wound which had killed Gohan was not a bullet wound, but actually that of the beam. Considering the death of Krillin and Gohan as well as the torture Chichi went through, Goku attacks Piccolo enragedly and blindly. Piccolo counters Goku's attacks consistently, even mocking him by using his cape like a matador's before throwing it out of the ring and leaving a pothole. Piccolo then states that now he will use his full power to defeat Goku and gives him a few minutes to recooperate his energy. Mr. Popo recognizes Piccolo as the ancient lord and pleads Piccolo to stop his attempt at revenge when Piccolo taunts Goku. Popo tries to explain to them that Piccolo was not actually an evil Demon King, but rather, a benevolent Warrior King of Earth. The thousands he destroyed were actually invaders intent on harming the people he ruled over. Mai confirms this from a talk she had once. Popo also tries to explain that Piccolo was sealed by the Sacred Mafuba technique in order to preserve Piccolo until a time where he would be needed. Piccolo shrugs off Mr. Popo's explanations and demands retribution for the act, stating that if history is twisted so Piccolo was a Demon King, then he will be the Demon King; destroying and conquering the world. Goku contends that whether or not Piccolo was good before, he wants to commit acts of evil now and therefore must be destroyed. Mr. Popo pleads but fails to gain any ground.
With Goku recooperated, Piccolo challenges Goku once more. This time, the two manage to fight on somewhat equal ground. Each blow is countered and thrown at high speeds until eventually the pair appear to disappear and reappear in random blurs. Eventually the pair begins to pound on each other in the middle of the ring, going blow for blow without blocking or really budging, despite pain. Attempting to finish each other off, the two unleash their respective Kamehameha and Makosen attacks. They put more and more power into their attacks, pushing each other back from the center until they reach the outer edges of the ring. In the ensuing explosion of power, both parties are distracted and a smoke cloud moves in. Piccolo is surprised to be incapable of finding his opponent; he can't sense his opponent because they're both so low on energy and there are a lot of people around the area. At last minute, he senses movement from the air and turns to see Goku at close range, headbutting him out of the ring. In shock, Piccolo skids across the ground and looks on as Goku laughs about what just happened. It turns out, Goku was expecting Piccolo to move out of the way. Drained of his energy, Goku lies unbudgingly on the ground with a smile. Mr. Popo enters the ring and declares Goku the champion; he then has Goku eat a bean.
Goku manages to stand up, given back some of his energy. He then looks at Piccolo angrily and summons his chi. Mr. Popo watches in shock as Goku walks over to Piccolo and places his hand on the King's chest. Piccolo feels somewhat revitalized from an energy transfer and stands up slowly. Goku then states that he would like a rematch someday; he also asks that Piccolo reform himself to be the old King he used to be. Popo smiles in surprise. Piccolo turns around, Mai moving to his side. They both look back at Goku whose friends gather around him, including Chichi with a crutch. Chichi asks if it's alright for Piccolo to get away. Piccolo then puts on a small smirk and clenches his fist, yelling, "Next time, Goku! NEXT TIME!"
Using the dragonballs, Goku revives everyone who was killed by Piccolo and his minions. With Krillin revived, Goku and the others tell him everything that happened. Bulma has connected a bit with Yamcha and he decides to resign from being Ox King's guard and live his life with her. Roshi makes a joke about living with Launch, to which she hits him. Goku decides to travel with Chichi, learning as much martial arts as he can and to become stronger in order to defeat Piccolo again.
The shot moves to the sky with Krillin wondering why everyone, including the villain, gets the girl but him. Everyone laughs and while it fades to black, he states that he's serious.
