Hi, I'm going to be doing Twilight fanfiction here. (I'm obsessed, I know.) But it's always intrigued me about Alice's past life, plus she's my favorite character. So, If you have free time, please read this and post comments! (I know that I'm obsessed. You don't need to say that. GO TWILIGHT!!)
Memory
Darkness. That was all I knew. Darkness and pain, both physical and mental. How could my parents do this to me? Just because I knew things, just because I was trying to save their lives. They thought I was crazy. They threw me in here. And now they would die today, I knew it. I felt the familiar rush of time passing as I scanned their future to see how much time was left...It was frighteningly short. Only one hour - they were already on the plane that I knew was destined to crash. "No..." I cried weakly. A crack of light appeared at the door, interrupting my vision. I scrambled toward it. I hadn't seen light in so long! Then, the light disappeared as someone shut the door. "Alice," the assylum worker called. I recognized the voice as Samuel's, the only employee who was kind to me. He was almost like a second father to me; he protected me as well as he could. When I first got here, he told me some very strange things. He was a vampire, and he loved me like his daughter. He was trying to protect me from someone named James, another vampire...That was probably why he was here. "Alice, are you in there?" What a stupid question - of course I was. I would have teased him earlier, but that was long ago. Now I had no will left to live. I murmered something incoherent, and he rushed toward the sound of my voice. "What's wrong?" he asked. Even in the total darkness, he could tell I was unwell. "My parents..." I moaned. "Oh no, Alice. How much time?" Samuel believed in my vision. I was sure he would have done something to save my parents, but that would have gotten him thrown in, too. "Only fifteen minutes," I said hopelessly. "I'm so sorry," he mouthed. We sat in silence for a while. Samuel finally broke it. "Alice, James is closer than I thought. He'll kill you if you're here when he comes." I shrugged. "Okay." Samuel's voice turned furious in the darkness. "Alice, that is NOT okay! I know you don't want to live, but neither will I if he gets to you. I have to get you out of here!" "No," I said flatly. Samuel said something else, but I didn't hear. I was scanning my parents' future...only five minutes. "Alice...I'm sorry. If you won't go, I have to save you myself." I had no idea what he meant. I didn't care; I was staying here. I would watch my parents die, then this James would come and I'd follow them. I would not go. "Please," Samuel said. "Please, I don't want to do this to you!" "What are you talking about?" I murmered, not sounding very interested at all. "Alice...If I tell you something, will you promise not to freak out?" "Sure," I muttered. Samuel sighed, and spoke, his words rushing together in sudden haste. "If I bite you, you'll be a vampire like me. There will be no reason for James to hunt you anymore. Idon't think he'll try to destroy you. I think he'll leave you alone then." I was too shocked to speak. "Yes, I have to do it," he said, more to himself than to me. "I'm so sorry, Alice. I hope you'll be okay. I love you." I was suddenly afraid of whatever he was going to do, bite me or something, but I was jerked out of the present. The five minutes were up. I was faintly aware of something very sharp cutting me as I watched the plane's engine explode. I didn't even care. I watched as the plane went down, down...and crashed into the ground. Tears streaming down my face, I crumpled to the cell floor. I remembered nothing more.
Okay, sorry if that's a little morbid. That was kind of a prologue, when Alice was still human in the assylum. If you've read Twilight, (if you havn't shame on you) then you know James stopped hunting Alice when she was changed. He destroyed Samuel in vengance, so Alice was left alone in the countryside outside the town of the assylum. I'll continue the story there later.
Alone
His face is the most beautiful thing in the world. His icy, pale skin glitters in the sun. His blond hair spills onto his forehead, almost reaching his eyes, which glow...red. Why are his eyes red? I don't know. And wait. His skin glitters? And it's so pale. I know I love him, these odd things don't change that. But I'm curious. Another picture flashes before my eyes, of a pretty girl with spikey black hair. Her skin glitters just like Jasper's, but her eyes are yellow. She reaches out to take Jasper's hand. I start to feel jealous, when I realize the girl is me. What am I? Why am I glittering in this strange vision? Why are my eyes yellow? Then Jasper speaks for the first time. "You don't know how glad I am to see you. It's been so long since I met another civilized vamprie." The shock of his words break my mind away from the vision, and I'm in darkness. I realize what my strangely colored eyes, my pale, glittery skin means. My eyes snap open. "I'm a vampire!"
That's Alice waking up for the first time. That whole paragraph was of her vision, sorry if it's a little confusing. Please post comments to improve my suckish writing!
