ACTUALLY, this is what AMERICANS should know (no offense with the all caps, but really,)
You say that you Americans are a democratic people. A free people! They fight for what is right, for what is for democracy! They even fought for many countries not for itself in wars!
But let me tell you...I am a call center agent in the Philippines. I am a filipino. I am working for a US based answering service, (we're the guys who answer your companies phones when they're out to lunch.) And even right now as I am typing this, I am taking calls from Americans, some with sweet girly voices, some with rude grandpa grandma like voices.
But all in all, I am being paid, 13,000 Pesos a month. Convert that to dollar, that is roughly $250 a month. Now tell me, is that all right? For me, it's a little okay, just for myself. But I know for a fact, that American Agents who are doing my job in America earn three times more. Unfair right? But here's the catch:
A few days ago, since the peso rose against the dollar (from $1=P46 to $1=P43) our bosses in Atlanta GA, said, "hey were starting to pay them more than we used to." And do you know what they did? They COST-CUTTED! They fired Jose, they fired Mika, they fired Emily, and they put me and Ezzel on Part-time!
MY QUESTION: What do you have to say?
