Our little ring of ten humans and one jellyfish tremble, as if we were just doused in ice. The little rice spirits, however dead they may be, smile just as tantalizingly as if they were alive and actually could eat us.
"OWWWWW!" T_________T
o.o Maybe they still can. I flex my own toes, hoping that they'll stay in one piece. But, perhaps, they'll work as bait.
"Hey, anyone have any extra skin?" C:
"..."
"Wha?" 0.o
"You know, bait, magnets, ladadada~"
"Erm, do we look like we do? We all want to stay in one piece too. We're not feeding the wild animals."
The rice bristle, and in a nanosecond, the smiles have become downright ugly grimaces.
"Okay, so what do we do, then?" I whisper. "It doesn't help that we can't kill them anymore."
"Let's trap them somewhere! Like...in a jar," Adri suggests.
YYugi frowns. "There's no jar that big. We'd need a gigantic tank."
That is so very, very true. Who knew so many rice lived in the bottom of the ocean? There'd never be a thing called famine on the land above.
"What if we stick them with something, like the candy? Then, they can't move," Chibi-bunni decides.
The jellyfish contributes his own ideas. "We wouldn't find that much candy anywhere. Besides, the rice would probably just eat it."
"Couldn't we just divert them with food?" Sar asks mournfully.
Nerfe laughs nervously. "What food? Ourselves?"
"Well, they do like shiny things," Fae reminds us.
Sar looks skeptical. "Does anyone have glitter with them?"
Des guffaws, attracting the attention of the rice once more. "Haw haw, that much glitter? I don't think I've ever seen anyone with enough to divert this lot, even on that Van Helson pig that one Christmas."
"Excuse me," Yunsi says, glaring. "I happen to have lots and lots and lots of glitter. Just let me find it..."
We all shift nervously at the openly curious rice. The hungry expressions on their features are quite nerve-wrecking.
"Got it...right here..." She pulls out a fistful, and a few pieces drift out from between her fingers. Immediately, the attention of the rice is turned towards her.
SNAP.
Whoa. o.o
"C'mon." We pry open yunsi's reluctant fingers and rush away, leaving a stream of bubbles behind us. Away we race, dragging our friend with us, hoping to escape the blood-thirsty rice that chase after us.
"Ahhhh!"
"MURDERERSSSS!!!"
"Help!"
"RAWRRRR!!!"
Eek. D=
So it goes on. If I didn't know better, I'd have said we were swimming in circles. Imagine, like a cinema screen. First, the LOians come by, screaming and wailing. Then, silence. A few moments later, the roar of thousands upon thousands ghosts of rice.
"EEE!"
...
"AHHH!"
...
"EEE!"
...
"AHH!"
...
"EEE--"
SLAM.
Uh-oh. o.<
Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place. On one side, a disturbed whale, lashing its tail angrily. On the other side, the mob of unhealthy whole grains. Mebbe it's actually from the frying pan and into the fire?
"Er, guys...?''
"What do we do what do we do what do we do?"
SPAZ. -x.x-
As it turns out, we needn't come up with the answer. At that moment, the whale turns, enveloping us tiny creatures into its jaws. Just before the rice can come get us, the teeth snap shut, and we're falling, falling, falling.
Splat.
"Wow, that was one long esophagus." C:
"Wha?"
"You mean...you mean..."
"We're stuck in a whale's belly?" DDDDDDx

Author's Notes:
I think I was able to reveal some gems this time. C:
Anyway. Thanks for the loads of comments on the past few entries, guys, especially Adri! Although some of them have little relevance to the entry, it makes me fuzzy inside to see double digits. xD
