Hola, y'all!
Just got back from spending 9 days in Mexico. My mom is renting a house in Ajijic, a town on the north shore of Lake Chapala (in the state of Jalisco). She's recently bought a house in the next little town over (going east between Ajijic and the bigger town of Chapala) and is staying in the rented place until the renovations are completed.
Had lots of fun. After several hours of listening to my Spanish CDs prior to the trip (didn't take Spanish in either high school or college), I actually remembered a few phrases and could utter them with reasonable pronounciation! And only had to use the trusty phrase book only a few times! Yippee! xd
Went to the tianguis in both Ajijic and Jocotopec (another lake town which is the farthest west on the north shore... about 15 minutes away from Ajijic). This is a Mexican version of a flea market but without the second-hand stuff. Ate great food. Walked all over the place as most stores, etc, are well within walking distance. Bought some gifts for my family and for myself... biggrin . Visited some Aztec pyramids which were only 2 hours away. Even found a scorpion in my closet one night! eek
I did take 4 rolls of film and will be getting the pictures developed soon. Will be sharing them with everyone either here or on my profile. So check back here for them! 3nodding
