When the light emanating from Holly died away, I first realized that Lord Avondale's shields were gone--quickly followed by the fact he was leaning heavily on his cane and holding an unconsious Holly in one arm. Mom, Aunt Nogard, and Aunt Xangord were passed out on the floor.

Dropping my shield, I quickly led the others over. Taking Holly from Lord Avondale, I handed her over to Wynn. Leaning Lord Avondale on my shoulder, I said in dragon speech, "Vraux, xue, urrib sa yi marv." [+1]

"Ymutp dio Xmuresuw," [+2] Lord Avondale replied.

"You recognize me?" I asked.

"Wynn too," Lord Avondale replied. "Holly had explained to me what happened to the two of you."

"Speaking of Holly," Wynn said, having hefted Holly on one shoulder and Aunt Nogard on the other. Nissa had mom and Aunt Xangord on her shoulders. "What in the world happened?"

"What did she do to my mom!" Xink demanded as we headed towards the nearest sick bay.

"Holly realized that by making Nogard good that it upset Dragon's chi," Lord Avondale said. "She took the yin from the yang so to speak."

"That doesn't explain what happened to my mom!" Xink said.

"When there is both good and evil, there is also netural," Lord Avondale said. "Black, white, and gray."

"You're not making a whole lot of sense there," Wynn said. "We get the point about Dragon and Nogard being opposets and Xangord being a combination of them. But that--"

"They're connected," Holly interrupted. "Put me down, Wynn."

"Sure you can stand?" Wynn asked, after setting Holly down and holding her while she wobbled.

"I used more energy than I expected to, I--and the three of them--will be fine in a few days," Holly replied.

"Why is no one answering my question about what happened to mom!" Xink demanded as we reached the sick bay. Those that were unconsious were put on beds while Lord Avondale and Holly were placed in chairs.

Looking at Xink, Holly said, "You look more and more like your dad every day...Anyway, about your mom and aunts. When Se'rox threw the mudball at Dragon, I needed to distract Dragon while I came on board. At the time, I didn't quite realize my little push would affect Nogard and Xangord at the same time."

" 'Little push' ... right," Wynn said. "So why come back now?"

"First to remove all memory from Nogard of her attempts at being evil," Holly replied. "By doing that, it will reset the balance of Dragon and Xangord's chi's."

"First?" Nissa asked. "There's more?"

"Yeah," Holly replied. "I'm here to make sure that if there ARE portals opened on you, that they only admit people I know to be safe--or to prevent Xink and Xangord from passing through when I think there's danger on the other side."
