Discovery
It was twelve o’clock in the afternoon. The bell had just rung sending all the classes to lunch. Lunch was the favorite part of every student’s day at Pershing County High School. Pershing County is the only high school in Pershing County, Nevada. It’s like all small towns, everybody knows everybody else. I have only been here two months and they know almost everything about me. In a way it’s kind of freaky, but I guess that’s the way it is in small towns. It may be a small town, but that doesn’t mean that everybody like everybody else. It’s the same as big city high school with clicks and classes. I happen to be in the weird and unpopular one. I may only have two friends, but they’re the best. “Happy 16th birthday Sam!" Kris and Alec yelled. "So do you have any plans for tonight night Sam?” Alec asked me. “Not that I know of, why?” I replied. “Well if you don’t have anything planned for tomorrow, what do you say about going out eat with us? It’ll be our birthday present to you.” Kris said. “I don’t know I’ll have to ask my parents.” I said. “Ok” they replied. Two hours later I was asking my parents. “I don’t have any problem with that. I have to go to work anyway.” My dad said. Joe was always going to work. It was like his second home. I guess it just goes with being a general. “Just be back by midnight.” He said. “Okay!” I replied as I was heading out the door.
We were eating at Fat Fryers when it started. We were just getting ready to order when the power went out. At first no one really cared this sort of thing happened a lot here. But that changed when we saw what caused it. Not that many people could clearly see what it was, but we could, although it was pretty hard to believe it at first. “What the hell was that?!” Kris yelled. “I don’t know, but it looked like a spaceship.” Alec answered. “Yeah right that was a spaceship, and I’m an alien from another planet.” I said sarcastically. “Oh my gosh I think it’s going to crash!” It did, but it was a little ways off. We wouldn’t even have known if it weren’t for the explosion. We ran outside to the car and drove to the site where it crashed. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Inside a five meter crater was actually was a spaceship, a round, glowing, alien spaceship. “I told you it was a spaceship!” Alec exclaimed. “Oh my gosh!” Kris whispered in shock. Then all of a sudden something moved from beside the ship. “Ahhh what was that?" Kris screamed. “I don’t know” I said. The shadow stepped into the light and you could clearly see that it was an alien from the ship. It had a long pointed tail, silver skin, and long pointed ears. He started running towards us and as he did his tail started to shirk, his skin stated to turn a peachy color and his ears started to round out. Then he tackled me. I hit the ground hard; I was defiantly going to have burses in the morning. “Para de sepatly. Para de sepatly!" he kept screaming over and over again. Alec tried to pull him off of me, but the alien punched him and dive on top of me again, still screaming. Then Alec punched him in the head and the alien rolled off of me. Before he it had the chance to recover Alec slugged him again, and the alien went motionless. We all just stood there for a second, “What do we do?” Alec finally asked. “I’ll call my dad, maybe he’ll know what to do.” I said as I dialed the phone. “Hello, Joe Stryker’s office. This is his secretary Jane speaking how may I help?” an overly cheery voice answered. “Hey Jane, this is Sam I need to talk to my dad right away!” I said almost in a rush. “Hello, Sam? Is something wrong?” my dad said. “I know it sounds crazy but there’s a spaceship right in front of me.” I answered. “Where are you?” he asked. “I’m about not that far away from Fat Fryers.” I said. “Is anyone else with you?” “Yeah, Alec and Kris are here too.” I answered. I was too freaked out to wonder why he wanted to know. “I’ll be right there Sam. Stay there honey.” He ordered. Thirty minutes later he and a dozen other military men were running around and shouting orders. “Dad what’s going on?” I yelled. “Nothing honey. Don’t worry you’ll forget everything soon” my dad said. I would have asked him what he meant, but about that time one of the military men gave me some sort of shot and I lost consciousness.
