Ch.1
Death's rose

Why people die is a mystery that is to big for anyone to solve, even my kind. People who die with pain in their hearts become what I am, a sprit, nothing more. We remain on earth with no memory except the death mark. That is a mark on our form the takes the shape of the most important thing when we died.

Well my story begins in my graveyard. I was awakened there; it was and always will be my home. I had no body at first, unseen and unheard, a nothing. Every so often a psychic median would come and try to destroy me or the others that were there, they all got caught. I was alone, and would ponder who I was or who I am now, or most of the time. Till that day when they came.

That day was different. A small black car pulled into the gate. At first I thought it was some one coming to morn for the dead, but then I realized the car was to new for some one to want to drive in this old graveyard. They stopped and a boy around the age of 15 got out he had pure white hair, his eyes had no pupils, and he wore a school uniform. He walked up to me, looking right at me like he could see me.
“Hello there,” he said. Was he talking to me?! “You look like you are on the brake on becoming a fade, why don’t you tell me your name and I’ll help you move on.”
“Are you talking to me?” I asked, looking around to see if there was anyone else around.
“Who else do you think? So what’s your name,” he said I started to sound irritated.
“Who are you?” I asked shocked he could both see and hear me.
“I’m an angel, well an angel in training, I’ve come to help you move on. But I need your name to help you?” he gloated.
“What if I don’t want to?” I asked trying to get him irritated again. His face filled with rage.
“Then you will fade and start to hurt people with your touch. And I don’t believe you want that,” he said. To be honest I didn’t know my human name or what happened when I died, and I really didn’t care what happened to people when I touch them.
“I’ll tell you my name if you tell me yours” I said.
“I’m Dante, and you are?” he said on his wits end.
“I changed my mind, I don’t want you to know my name,” I said just to get him mad, and it worked. He threw his hands in the air, and screamed.
“Hear this girly, I have to go to high school wile you fly around here and do nothing. On top of that I have to deal with smart-a** ghosts like you, every day and I don’t think I can stand it much longer. Do you realize I have a test I’m more then likely going fail” he finished out of breath. This I found funny but just as I was going to reply a woman dressed in a long black dress, and the same white hair as Dante, got out of the car. Dante looked worried.
“Dante, get in the car,” she ordered him.
“But master Jenny…” he started to protest.
“Dante I will not tolerate disobedience, go, I’ll handle this one” she said walking up to me. He bowed to her and quickly ran to the car. “So you are a Twisprit?” She asked.
“Huh?”
“A sprit that can’t remember their human name, well are you one?” she asked again. Her expression gave no clue what she was thinking.
“Yes,” I said admitting defeat. At that moment her face looked like a mother who was feeling sorry for a stray child.
“Poor girl,” she said, “May I see your mark?” There was no way to win, so I showed her the thorn, heart, wreath on my arm. She inspected it and smiled. “Rose,” is all she said
“What is it?” I said hoping she’d leave me alone.
“That’s what I’ll call you, the thorns are rose thorns”
“I don’t need a name, I’m dead what dose it mater anymore,”
“Every one needs a name,” the look she gave me made me shudder. “And you can’t stay here so I’ll have to give you a Demi,”
“What’s…” but before I could finish asking she placed her hand on my head, and I felt pain. I screamed or I think I did, the pain was so intense that I collapsed and every thing went black.

When I came to, I was somewhere I’ve never been and it was hard to move. It felt like I had some thing heavy on me but I forced myself to move. When I sat up I saw a girl with ash colored hair, albino like skin, and was wearing a nightgown. She looked at me curiously, her face looked familiar to me but I didn’t think I knew her; she was around Dante’s age. Jenny then walked into the white room I was in.
“Morning,” she said her voice filled with joy.
“Umm… Morning,” I said wandering what on earth she was thinking.
“This is grate! so what do you think?” she said pointing to the girl on the other side of the room. At first I didn’t understand what she was talking about, then I realized that the girl was inside a frame like a picture, but it moved as I did the girl in the frame was me. I looked at myself; before I blacked out I couldn’t see myself even in a mirror so, why now? I lifted my hand and looked like it was no longer transparent, what happened to me? “You look good you just need food, water, and sun. Then you can go to school and become human till you remember who you are. It’s the perfect plan, don’t you think?”
“What happened to me? I feel heavy,” I found my self-yelling.
“I gave you a demi like I said I would. A demi is a human body that morphs to look like you thought you hair was a defect caused by your level of fade,” she said putting some clothes in the end of the bed I was on.
“Huh?”
“In a nut shell you are human now, and there is nothing I can do about your hair,” she summarized. It didn’t make much sense to me I was alive but not alive. I reached up and touched the strange ash hair I now had. “You look really good, and if people ask you can tell them you are half albino” she joked.
“That doesn’t explain why I feel like I’m weighted down,” I said now in a whisper. All she did was smile.
“It’s because you are used to the weightless feeling of being dead, or that’s my theory. I don’t really know,” she said. And then came to help me up. “Oh and there is some thing else you should know. If your demi dies, you will still be chained to it and that will make you unable to move at all. My advices don’t die. Well this dress is the only clothes that I think will fit so we will have to take you shopping,” she said to happy. Dose this lady have a weird daughter complex or some thing? I thought. She left and I got dressed and began my second life.
