Tee hee hee. Persuasive historical speech. Wait... this was homework! Why am I laughing?!
Dear gents,
The rich, open land of Africa awaits us. What we have only used for trading ports is now realized as potential territory; one which we shall gain sovereignty over. Our Great Britain will become even greater. As well as this territory, think of the resources we’ll gain. Explorers have told of a land abundant with fruit, gold, and diamonds, none of which the indigenous people are using. Then there’s the people themselves; a resource of labor! With everything Africa has to offer, imperialism is definitely profitable in the long run.
In fact, we’re not the only ones benefiting from our expansion. We will spread our superior ideology and values as well as our advanced technology into their land, therefore enhancing their culture. Is it not the basic idea of Social Darwinism that those who are more advanced can thrive better? Let us bring forth an age of enlightenment to the Africans. We are only doing a much needed service to them by bringing our technology to them. I am sure this advanced technology is a fair trade for their unused resources. So let us help them, as well as gain these resources and land we desperately need.
wahmbulance YO! Interesting part starts here! wahmbulance
Anyway, we have this long term idiot substitute in our class while our teacher is out as a result of knee surgery. She actually has helped out the ELD (English Language Development) kids in our class since the middle of September-ish, but actually teaching is not her strength.
Aside from the fact she ignores these really racist comments from various idiots in our class ("Hey! I can speak African!" *clicks toungue and yells like a gorilla*), she treats us as if we all have IQs of 24.
Today, for example: (Orange represents her, red represents random idiot commenter, and green represents another random idiot commenter. I don't think I show up... Actually, there are many random idiot commenters, so any color besides orange or black is one of 'em.)
"What is the fastest growing democracy in the world?"
"OOH! McDonald's!"
"No, the fastest growing DEMOCRACY... like, in a country."
"Burger King!"
"In-N-Out Burger!"
"It's In-di-a. Today we're learning about In-di-a."(Did I mention she slows down words for emphasis so our slow minds can catch them?)
Example 2:
> We've had the word "ideology" constantly taught to us almost every day for the past four weeks. Tuesday...
"Can anyone tell me what ideology is?"
"Uhhhh..."
"Ok, let's back up, then. Can anyone tell me what an idea is?"
"Uhhhh..."
( scream It's something you don't have, you idiot teacher!!!)
My friend Emily made a list, which she plans to make a book of when the school year is over. So when she was "taking class notes", is was actually notes of the class' behavior. As soon as I get a copy, I'll post it.
