Green ooze sloshed under his feet as he walked madly through the forest. He hadn't heard from his sister in eight years! How could she? he thought. She was supposed to kill the child! What has happened to her? No news for eight long years. Was she killed in the attempt? No, I would have heard of that, someone trying to kill the kings child. Then she is a traitor! He crashed through the undergrowth. He was going mad with his own anger billowing like clouds above him and a river of hate below him. Nothing and no one to talk to accept himself and the minions he created with death, life and hatred. Pure hatred. He trudged over to his orbanu, his seeing stone, and once again looked for his traitorous sister. He saw the girl peering back through its red depths, he could always see the elven child named Ariana or the king and queen, but never his sister. He laughed, pitiful, he thought. A girl, she could never dream to touch the power and the havoc I am planning. But everything that Rohar had sent her way in all these eight years had failed. It had first started with his sister, who no one had heard from, onto any spell or being he sent her way never worked. Still staring into the red depths he saw an interesting site. Butterflies. A whole pack of butterflies fluttering madly around her until they made a shield completely around her, engulfing her in the wings, and then they all vanished, and the girl, gone. Disappeared. "No!" he screamed. So, she has learned the art of Tyumi.
In the gardens the king and queen gasped. For never in 10,000 years had a Tyumi user ever had been seen. It was the ancient elven magik that used butterflies. Most of it's magik was unknown, sealed up in the ancient tomes that none touched because of the dangers and extreme magik that none could wield. These butterflies were an ancient clan of Tyumidra. They would choose only to use the most powerful creature, as they were drawn to power. Only the pure of heart could use them and not go mad or turn evil.
"This is not good," Javina said in a worried voice.
"No, such power. We shall have to make her leave. This could be the evil that the prophecy told of. The child you bear now may have to fight his own sister! No! We shall make her leave right away!" The king's voice boomed out.
"But Allesto! She is still our child! You would banish your own child? She is still too young to be on her own." The queen cried out.
"Then we shall send her with her handmaiden, and that half-human, Tannen. That way all the abominations would leave!"
The queen gasped, "please Allesto! You don't really feel that way do you? She is our own flesh and blood! And Tannen! My sister cannot help that she was savaged by the human mercinaries! He is still a part of my family Allesto!"
"He is human! I will hear no nonsense! They will leave! Tonight!"
"Allesto! How will you tell your own daughter! I will not! I will not be a part of this!"
"You will do as your king tells you to do!"
"Yes my," Javina said quietly "king!" she screamed out.
Tears streaming down Javina's face she fled off to the kitchens to prepare travelling food for the three now banished elves. Just as she put the last of the food into its pouch there was a fluttering of wings behind her, suprised, Javina turned around to find her daughter standing there with her eyes glowing.
"Purple?" Javina questioned startled.
"Hello mother" Ariana said as her eyes turned back to the vivid green that was Ariana's true color. "Are we going somewhere?"
"The king wants to meet with you, Tannen and Marrissa in the room of legions." Javina said in a hollow voice.
"The room of legions? Is not that.....?"
"Yes it is," her mother cut in.
"But what have we done?"
"You will find everything out when the king tells you."
"But why can father not tell me in my quarters or at supper time?"
"You will address him as the king today and forevermore!"
"But mother!"
"Just go! Come to me after, I am not allowed into the room of legions."
So Ariana set off to meet her father in the room of legions. She had never been in that room before, she was not allowed. But she heard things, things that happened in the room of legions and none of it was good. Elves went into that room and were never seen from or heard of again. She walked numbly through the corridors not taking in all the beauty around her. At last, she reached the door. She hardly noticed that it was a beautiful door, it looked golden with autumn leaves engraved intricately through it, almost looking real but with a golden hue. Ariana reached for the handle as she heard footsteps behind her. Turning she saw Tannen and Marrissa looking wide-eyed and somber.
"I always knew this day would come." Tannens voice rang out.
"What Tannen?" Ariana questioned.
"Do you not know? I am but a half-elf, yet they call me half-human. I am hated and despised because of my lineage. As if my mother chose this! I hear their whispers, they all wish my mother would have died instead of bare me!"
"Tannen! Do not say such things!" Ariana said.
"Oh Tannen, I am so sorry you have had to hear those things," Marrissa continued, "they are just being ignorant, you are a wonderful person!"
"Let us just get this overwith."
The girls agreed as Ariana reached again for the door with a feeling that life was not going to be the same, ever again.
