Goldenavatar's Journal
Oh, I just HAD to give this a shot.
[:: My big beautiful, killin' machine... ::]
I really hope that I'm not the first person you find this out from folks, but it's a totally new year as you read this. Today is one of the first few hours in the very first days of the year two-thousand and seven. I want to take this opportunity to thank all the people in this ever shrinking world of ours who helped to make this not only a good year to be me, but yet another great year to not be you.

The last three months have been a mishmosh of things. Academically, I've been productive in accomplishing many a decent grade, and I'm putting plans into motion for the summer months. I've finished another year of writing for my schools newspaper, and still to my surprise, some of the professors read my articles and like what I've written. I'm slowly getting myself back into the swing of doing figure drawings, and studies of paintings, after an abrupt hiatus from it all. My guitar has been sorrily neglected though in all of this, but at least I'm photographing stuff at random and soon I will be free enough to resume taking classes at the Art Students League again for a short period.

The winter recess/break I'm experiencing right now is one that has been sorrily needed since I spent this past summer in school getting some classes dealt with. The slow growing mess that was in my living room has been soundly defeated, all that remains is the broken sofa from Seaman's I got a few years ago. And yes, I learned from that and buy my furniture made by carpenters with solid wood, or metal framing.

Like a lot of folks out there on this big blue marble of ours, I'm still trying to find that thing that I'm passionate enough to commit my professional life to, but I've had enough experiences to know what I don't want to spend my life doing. If you're just a little bit curious to see what I've been churning out over the past few months, by all means check out the gallery here as it's where I've been putting my work. I haven't been scanning a great deal of drawings simply because I still find the scanning process tedious, but I think some of you might be very interested in what work that you see there regardless.

That all said, I'm going to cut this short and say, see ya in April.

- Scott "Alchemism" Everingham

"After a certain high level of technical skill is achieved, science and art tend to coalesce in esthetics, plasticity, and form. The greatest scientists are always artists as well."

"Doing anything worthwhile takes forever. 90% of what separates successful people and failed people is time, effort, & stamina."
