STOP! Hammertime ♪♫♪
Prologue:

Five more seconds. The rotation of television commercials could be easily mapped out. Shampoo, car, and then video games. The process never strayed until the next day. Mapping out this order required little knowledge. In this case, the knowledge helped. He weighed the remote in his hand. One more second. His eyebrows raised at quick change. Flames flashed on the flat screen and then clashed with a barrage of flying rocks. The impact caused an explosion. In the midst of the smoke a figure flew by. The scene shifted and focused on the figure's face to reveal what many would call the face of an angel. It's expression looked tired and worn with a small trail of blood on it's cheek. A similar figure flew after it, the personification of evil, with the face of rage. Rays of light were scattered across the screen as three words appeared, "Gods and Demons."

The lights dimmed away and reverted to the original program. Some voices from the speakers exchanged a polite conversation when from outside the digital screen, a boy was frantically shuffling through a pile of papers. A beige envelope emerged from the mass and was quickly ripped apart. Inside, five crisp twenty dollar bills appeared. The boy's face paled. The hand holding the money shook. The sound of the rustling bills echoed, all throughout the hushed room.

"Why?" he questioned the empty room. "Mother. Father. Why?"

John, a frail boy, just fifteen years of age. He lived alone. The money that was now shaking in his unsteady hand was for rent, food, and school. The amount was trimmed to the precise amount so that no extra things could be paid for. The envelope read, "From Mom and Dad." His parents were in Australia. They were both scientists researching the animals there, leaving their son at their cozy home in ______. The commercial John had just seen was for the newest "Gods and Demons" game on the market, "The Legendary War." Not only did it have the most advanced game-play in that century, but it was also the most expensive. The game, along with its special game console totaled to the pricey sum of seven-hundred-fifty dollars and ninety-nine cents.

John threw the bills onto a wooden coffee table and stomped to his bedroom balcony and shoved the door open. He took in a rather large breath before belting out to the birds above him.

"I need a job!"
