My Wow Based - Fantasy Story

Deceived

With silent, yet quick work in her footing, Seralina bypassed the guards with ease. The guards did turn towards the small creeks she made with each step expecting to see an enemy, only to be greeted by an empty hallway behind them. The two guards threw wordless glances of confusion at each one another before shrugging their shoulders in union and looked back forward for any approaching enemies. A small smirk grew behind Seralina’s mask as she continued onward down the halls of the castle. She was Night Elf rogue, gifted with the abilities to meld with the shadows and use them as her advantage when sneaking through areas she needed to pass. She hid amongst the darkened corners of the rooms and headed with determination down the narrow hallways that would lead her to her final destination. The throne room, which was heavily guarded by four plate wearers, and the king who leaned back into his high and mighty chair. Teal flags draped from the side walls with a painted red symbol of a shield on it. She examined the King known as Mateo, for a rumored merciless king he looked quite passive, and she wondered if it was some sort of treacherous act of tomfoolery. Her quest stated that it was up to her to assassinate this man. That way the villagers could escape from these parts and find a place to live in peace without the threats of such a cruel man killing them off one by one. She did not care for their safety she was merely interested that hefty reward that merchant offered back in town. Ten gold pieces and the Black Menace, an ancient relic weapon said to inflict the damage of shadows upon its prey. A prize indeed that she couldn’t wait to acquire. Seralina reached into her side pouch and pulled out a small rock which she fumbled to her right hand, and then threw. The small rock flew across the room, making a distinct sharp noise when it hit the wall in behind the King's throne. As expected, the guards and the king shifted their bodies toward the noise unaware of the stranger in their mists. Seralina darted out of the shadows and backstabbed the King with her kunai knife. And quickly submerged herself into the shadows as she watched the king tilt over his chair as a gasp of surprise and pain escaped his mouth. His head laying mere centimeters above the ground as blood dripped heavily out of his back. Sure of her handiwork Seralina spun around and dashed out of the room.

Turning around was probably the stupidest mistake that Devoney had ever made. For all he saw was the harden brick wall, and a small rock on the black tiled floor. At first he stared at it wondering how such a small object had gotten to the second floor in such a large castle that was cleaned everyday by one of the captured bandits as attunement of the crimes they had done. Even the King was extremely nice enough to let them live a peaceful life in the village east of the Castle. Of course a few officers were sent down to see how they were behaving once a week but nothing too harmful was done to them. He heard his king let out a painful gasp and twisted back to see the commotion. This just happened to be their noble king falling to the ground, death taking his fallen form. Captain Devoney’s eyes fell on the retreating female night elf’s back. Her blue hair that was tied back swayed back and forth with each rushed step she took to escape.
“Kill that Night Elf, she is a murderer!” He commanded the three guards that were standing besides him before but they had already begun their own pursuits after her. He soon joined the chase as well, his plated armor causing loud clanging noises. Devoney could see the woman was dressed in black leather armor and was quickly avoiding guards that tried to surprise her from hidden rooms. She jumped over the second floor railing landing on her feet to the first floor and used her kunai to slash the incoming clothed wearing mages in their sides before the could cast a spell on her. Devoney watched from above, he could not jump down with this type of armor on and slammed his fist on the railing. All he could see was freshly drawn blood leaking from his fallen allies.

Seralina managed to reach the outside walls of the castle but she was not free yet. The sounds of the guard’s whistles were heard echoing from the inside of the castle. She nervously bit down on her lip tasting her own rich blood that made her insides clench in disgust. Her azure orbs shifted to the large wooden gate which was shut now due to one of the guards most likely. She was trapped until help would arrive which was beginning to run late once again.
“Anytime Miyo…” She muttered under her breath but nothing responded to her so helplessly she got to watch as the guards formed lines against the main steps of the castle doors. They all kneeled down to the captain who was a human male paladin that wore clear plated armor and a tabard that was black and gold much different from the others.
“Seems like your trapped, little rogue.” He told her, bursting into a fit of laughter. “Did you honestly think you could get away?” Seralina snorted in response to his question.
“Trust me, I’d rather die than be punished by your king’s wrath and I’m somewhat glad he’s dead.” Seralina watched the paladin folded his arms and whispered some words to one of the kneeling guards who nodded his head in agreement.
“Well, here’s your chance, why don’t you kill yourself before us.” He told her, and Seralina nodded bringing her own kunai to her neck. She closed her eyes and let the blade slightly pierce into her skin, blood drawing out of her neck. Though with her eyes clothes she could hear a small thumbing sound she did not notice before as if something was trying to get in. Her eyes immediately opened and she threw the kunai at the paladin which he blocked with his shield and made haste for the door. A large slam of the gate being forced opened echoed throughout the castle walls. There on a large tiger mount sat a female night elf huntress with a bow in her right hand and a quiver tied to her back. The tiger rushed towards Seralina and the female huntress reached out with her left hand and pulled her on the tiger. The huntress patted the tigers belly as if pointing out it was time to turn around and the tiger stopped to twist its body around preparing to leave.
“Duck Seralina, unless you want an arrow embedded into your skull!” The huntress yelled to Seralina who smartly ducked down and allowed the huntress to grab three arrows from her quiver. With precision shots, she managed to hit two of the guards by the paladin while the rest dropped down to the ground for cover, including the captain. The tiger took off and Seralina escaped for the time being from the castle along with her best friend Miyo.

Devoney got up from his spot from the ground watching the blue haired rogue escape. His insides boiled with rage, he would not let them escape, and he swore a pledge to defend his king even after death. With a sharp whistle a black stallion in armor galloped over to him from the castles farm shed. The stallion stopped in front of him allowing Devoney to swing his leg over the horse and allowing him to get on it properly before trying to move forward. He pulled on its reins and kicked it gently to make it move forward.
“These criminals shall face thy punishment for the crimes they have committed.” Devoney swore as he waved a great farewell to the other guards who saluted him with respect.
