Review: Cardcaptor Sakura
People might find it weird that after 3 years of reading manga, I haven't read Cardcaptor Sakura. I haven't read Ranma 1/2, either. sweatdrop
But the whole reason for me not reading Cardcaptor Sakura was just its cover appeal. I thought it would be a boring, y-rated manga... all happy and sweet with no real plot... just cuteness. Of course, it is by CLAMP, which usualy writes with good storylines. But the look just never appealed to me, and face it, I'm poor and have to choose my manga selection carefully emo . But I found it for $0.25 each at a secondhand store and decided, "OK, 25 cent manga. I'm buying it." Which explains why I only have vols. 2 & 3. And they're this really old edition... it's tokyopop before tokyopop was well-established.
scream Enough with my life story! on with the review!
Cardcaptor Sakura has humor, interesting characters, and hinted shojo/shonen-ai!
Yes, Sakura's female friend Tomoyo likes her more than a friend... and it's not just admiration. While another one of Sakura's classmates, Li, isn't just competing against her for the Clow Cards... he's also competing for the object of her affection! Another thing is Kero (a.k.a. Kerberos, the Creature of the Seal of the Clow Book), who is this powerful creature... who has been turned into a cute little stuffed animal thing.

My experience with Cardcaptor Sakura... you can't judge a book by its cover. Literally.
