Chapter 9: Home again!

The next day at seven a.m. the bus left the Fortress and headed for the school. Along the trip back everybody talked about the last week, while Rory only played his Game Boy Advance all the way home. When the bus stopped at his house Rory slung his backpack on and walked down his drive way. When he got inside he said hi to his Mum and sister Sara. That night Lt. Pyildro came over and told Rory’s Mum about Yuri and what was going to happen. They both thought that he was asleep but Rory could hear them arguing.
“I won‘t let my son do this.”
“Miss this is for the sake of the universe, and damn it, keep your voice down or you‘ll wake him up.”

The next day Rory left a little morning note of. “hello and stuff” and went out for a walk into the woods. “Okay Yuri let‘s get practising.” Rory jumped towards a tree and called “Steel claws!” Rory’s nails grew into claws and Rory swiped at a tree, which in turn sliced it in half. They did this for about an hour, slashing trees and heightening their skills (mostly Rory‘s skills) at fighting.
“Very good Rory……but real enemies will be much harder,” sighed Yuri. When they got back to the house, Rory’s Mum was sitting at the kitchen table having a cup of coffee.
“Hello Mum,” greeted Rory.
“Morning Rory…last night a man by the name of Lt. Pyildro came over. You know, the leader of the Earth Defence force.”
“So what did he want?”
“Well before we get down to that……can I see Yuri?”
“Fine then.” Rory let Yuri’s soul take over.
“It‘s me Yuri in person,” mocked Yuri .“What do ya want.”
“Well…..I just wanted to know…..if you really existed…….anyways, Lt. Pyildro told me about what happened to you two…and about what you are going to try and do…….I won’t allow Rory to do this.”
“Mum…..” (Rory had taken back control), “I don‘t care what you say, I‘m going. Yuri and I are going to separate ourselves. It‘s my destiny, hehhehheh, it sounds corny doesn’t it. We need to separate in order to save the world….wait not just the Earth, the entire universe depends on us being separated. Yuri is the only one who stands a chance against Zaire. I‘m sorry but I have to.”
“Rory……….”
“I‘m sorry…I‘m going out for awhile. Lt. Pyildro said I could tell one other person. I‘m going to tell Ryan.”
“See you later.”

Rory went to his friend Ryan’s house. He took Ryan out back to the woods behind the house. “What‘s this all about……..is it about all the cheese I at last time I was over.”
“Hahaha. Yeah right. For once please be serious.” Rory told Ryan about the events at the E.D.F. Headquarters.
“Well……..that‘s interesting,” said Ryan after the exclamation.
“I just got an idea.” said Rory excitedly
“What?”
“You can come with us!”
“Will I be allowed?”
"Yes, he would be allowed………this reminds me of when I went to fight Zaire…….my friend Jake……he was my monitor at H.Q. when I fought……… I wonder what happened to him?”
“Yuri says it‘s ok.”
“Well count me in.” Ryan said in a broad voice. “Monitor Ryan, reporting for duty.”
“Hahahaha! You never change Ryan,” Rory said as he gave a cheerful punch to Ryan’s shoulder. “I‘ll phone you when we’re going.”
“Sounds like a plan… see ya later.”
“Yeah, see ya!” With that, Rory went back to his house……….but on the way something unexpected would happen.

Chapter 10:
The Hurried Escape…..or Battle!
Rory was about half way home when a jeep pulled up beside him. The window rolled down to reveal Lt. Pyildro.
“We got trouble.”
“What is it sir?” asked Rory.
“Zaire has made the first move!…. Some of his army is attacking H.Q.”
“This……this can not be…… he made an army already!” stated Yuri.
“I‘m afraid so,” Lt. Pyildro said sadly. “We have to go now!”
“No!” blurted Rory. “We promised Ryan we would tell him, when we were going!”
“Then there’s only one thing to do,” sighed Yuri. “Lt. Pyildro! One: contact Ryan Stewart, and tell him to pack fast. Two: get Rory‘s mother to pack for him. Three: Get me a ride and a weapon!”
“I thought as much,” sighed Lt. Pyildro. “Get in!”
Yuri climbed into the hummer. As soon as he was buckled in the driver sped off down the road. As they drove along Lt. Pyildro turned around. “Open the suitcase!” Lt. Pyildro said.
“Okay!” Yuri bent over and un-buckled the suitcase, and opened it to reveal a large broadsword. The blade was dark steel with a red handle.
“This… is Flagsaiga. It‘s your father‘s sword……he wanted you to have it.”
“My Fa-Father wanted me to have this?”
“Yup!”
“Then I shall yield it with pride!” Yuri said as he attached the Flagsaiga to his back.
As they got closer to the battle field Yuri put on shoulder armour and iron coated boots, black gloves, with his fingers sticking out of the ends. “Let‘s get this done,” said Yuri as he brushed back his hair.
Finally they stopped and Yuri got out, and the hummer sped off. “Good luck….I‘ll get your orders out right away….and I will see you after the fight!”
“You ready Yuri?”
“Yup! It‘s butt kicking time.”
“I‘m leaving this to you…..I haven’t had enough training yet.”
“Don‘t worry, your time will come!” Yuri climbed up the slope to the peak, and looked over at the scene that lay before him.
Hordes of demons were fighting against the E.D.F forces. Beam swords were flashing as they were cutting up demons. “It‘s go time!!!” yelled Yuri as he jumped off the rocky mound and into the fray.
