Well, my aunt fom Pittsburgh got us all tickets to see a Peter Pan Pantomime, which is apparently some sort of tradition over here (the Pantomome, not nessesarily Peter Pan.) She got it mainly for my kid cousins. It was a stuffy affair, not fun for little children at all...
And if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.
It was absolute madness, children everywhere, girls playing boys parts, men in drag doing girls parts, audience participation, cheering the heroes, booing the villains, and a version of the twelve days of christmas that included things like "Twelve Water Guns" (which were summarily unloaded into the audience), "Five Toilet Rolls" (which too were hurled into the audience - multiple times, and they once fell into the orchestra pit even; bless the Techies for hurling them back onstage.) and "A Bra that was made to hold Three."
Captain Hook was played by none other than Happy Days veteran Henry Winkler. They even made a crap load of jokes based on Happy Days - pretty much a star bump. The music was quite a mix, with "The Final Countdown" and "Eye of the Tiger" and some Happy Days songs as well.
All in all, it was like RHPS, a Variaty Show, and A Childrens Programme, all wrapped in a Peter Pan wrapper. I'm still not sure if I liked it or not, heh. It was so bad, it was good, if you know what I mean. xd
