ST00PID s**t I GET TO DO IN ART CLASS
So I`m in a class called AP 2D Design.
From the "AP" you`d probably assume this class is hard.
& would say you are right. 3nodding
Well, to me it is.
I mostly signed-up for an AP class cuz I need it for another class I`m taking.
The work I do in there will go into a portfolio, which then gets sent out to a collage board,
-sigh- which then gets critiqued...yada yada yada, I get collage credit depending on how the board likes it or not.
How much would I be getting if they approve?
Pfftt, who knows.
For the actual porfolio there needs to be 29[wtf? why not make it 30? neutral ] artworks,
but for the class, the teacher requires over 30. -____-"
Quality
5 works that "demonstrate my mastery in design"
These 5 should consist of the best of the best of the best.
Get it? THE best out off all 29....30, whatever. xP
Concentration
12 describing an in-depth exploration of a particular design concern
Which means I need to find a focus, a main visual idea,
and devote most of my time, effort, & imagination into that one idea...
until my brain practically fizzles out. After coming up with my great idea/focus, the teach said I had to write a paragraph or two explaining it.
She gave me about 3 weeks to do that. When the 3 weeks were over & done with, I still hadn`t done it. xD
So while in class, I wrote up a quick paragraph.
Never got it back, so I don`t know what I got on it.
Probably a C or something....low grade for half-assed work. xp
Anyways, my concentration for the rest of the year would be CD covers.
I take real bands, with real album names, & totally make-up some new s**t for that band.
Its a new take on an old assignment I had last year, with the same teacher.
She`s the one that suggested I do that actually.
Hey, it saved me the time & energy of thinking of something else myself.
My main tools I use are my sweet compy, my awesome graphics tablet, a scanner, a camera, & Photoshop CS. heart
Breadth

Okay, to be totally honest here, I have no ******** clue what to do with this.
Understanding?! I can hardly understand my own thoughts much less the freakin principles of design.

Can somebody help me out here?
May I also add that ALL of the finished works have to be put on a slide.
You know, those small things you put into a projector? Yeah...
& also, I`ve got one due every other week. It takes me about half of one just
to come up with an idea. One that isn`t lame, totally retarded, too hard, too simple,
& too effing "inappropriate" for our nice collage board members. :/
Now, to show you what I have done so far...
which isn`t much really. Dammit, I`m getting there though.

Yeah, it`s not in the shape of the typical CD cover.
My teacher is always getting on my case about that.
It`s called a casette, b***h! You were what...like 50 when they 1st came out?!
I mean Jesus...
Crappy trees were hand-drawn.
Used a brush for the tape.
Attempted to make fold marks with a gradiant. That kinda failed.

I`ll admit, this was half-assed. Hardly put much effort.
I had a deadline to meet that day, couldn`t afford to miss it.

Not a CD design, I KNOW.
I was just exploring different aspects that week...
Bamboo was also hand-drawn.
Took me half the class to make the border though.
Not sure why.
Not a real album name, that I`m aware of anyway.
I definitely had the most fun with this. xd

Not an entirely impressive collection, but I`m quite proud of them.
You see, besides the problem of me being extremely lazy,
I have a hard time connecting the band with the CD design.
I don`t really see how the doves & letter ties into Eths, mostly cuz I can`t
freakin understand their lyrics. xD
but that is one of my goals this year.
To get a deeper understand of the world of graphic design & maybe
have a future with it...somewhere, somehow.
