Global Warming: 1, Australia: 0
Monday was the hottest day in November in Australian history - today was the coldest.

2 weeks away from the start of the Australian summer and bam - it snows. Some freak cold snap happened, and it snowed for the first time in my state in 100 years or something and for the first time in 50 years in other states.

So today was the 'How can we reduce greenhouse gas emmisions in Australia without sigining the Kyoto protocol' day and the following options came up:

- One group is doing this credit system, where you trade credits for gas emissions. It was very complex and as a result, I can't see it being taken as a viable option.

- Our lovely Prime Minister has defended his position on the Kyoto Protocol claiming that it will 'hurt Australalia'. I believe the nation-wide reaction was 'It's snowing. In November. That's hurting Australia. You Douche talk2hand ' Anyway so HIS idea was some second-rate-straight-to-dvd-kmart version of the Kyoto Protocol designed specifically for Australia....yeah, thats really going to work. How much longer until he is replaced and then can never be voted back in?

- Queensland Transport have suggested that more people should be using public transport to cut down on exhaust fumes. If Brisbane trasnport casts their minds back to a month ago, there was a bridge closure for 3 days. During that time, public transport increased 100 times the regular amount because nobody could drive into work without being hideously late. The chaos caused nation-wide coverage of the insane public transport useage and bought to attention the need for more public transport, as QLD Transport cannot cover the regular amount of passengers, let alone 100 times the regular amount. QLD Transport shouldn't suggest an option that has already been proven to fail.

So basically we're ********.

I read the Kyoto Protocol a while back and I can't remember what was on it, but I remember that I never once thought while reading it 'this is going to be the demise of Australia' so I don't know what the PM is talking about...I'm not sure if he does either...he's an old man.

And my final point in this rant - I got sick because of the cold snap *throws things*

It's midnight, I'm shivering and my throat is still sore, despite me taking *counts* 21 tablets today *mumbles*

Oh, and sorry for making you feel like you should read this, but I'm high on pain killers and this is my first semi-political rant so I felt that someone should read it.

Pft, this whole situation with global warming is a joke. We are just slowly destroying are own home, and we will not only kill ourselves and our brothers but all of the animals and all of the beautiful land.

I'm sorry, but no one is going to do anything about it...mark my words. The human race has just become too dependent on using cars E.C.T to start trying to use something else and IF a renewable source of energy is perfected to be used as fuel no one will use it because it probably will not be able to hit the standards non-renewable fuels do such as fast speeding in cars.

What I say is forget cars exhaust, that isn’t the problem, its plane exhaust. One plane journey in average releases the equivalent of one whole year’s worth of Co2 gas from a ******** insane!

The only good thing about this is that this whole global warming thing will not kick off properly until are generation is dead and buried but what about everyone else to come?
*sigh*
It's so ******** scary...
xx
