I just finished reading my book The Bluest Eye by Toni Garrison. And i want to cry. Its about a black girl in Lorain Ohio who prays and prays feverently for blue eyes so she can become beautiful. And she goes thru so much her mom abuses her, her dad ends up getting her pregnant and she doesnt get those blues eyes until the end when she goes mad. Its so sad what we would do to be considered pretty in the eyes of others. crying
