Ok, so I spent some time making a profile, so why is it back to one of the prefab backgrounds I hear you ask? Ok, so you didn't ask, but shut up while I tell you anyway wink
Well I made a nice-ish header from a photograph I took. It wasn't actually a very sharp photo, but once I manipulated (or mutilated it) several times It was kinda ok to use as a header. Then I needed to sort out the background colours of the page and columns and headings to get a sort of co-ordinated look. I hadn't really worked out that part very good, but thought well what the heck I will play around with the colours later on, lets just get the layout sorted now.
I am no expert at CSS and although I got the columns layed out more or less how I wanted (ie to make 2 columns instead of the default 3), part of the original background was showing though! So what I had was a mainly black and orange layout, with a bit of blue background showing through!
It was late and I was tired, so I tore myself away from the pc resolving to fix the problems in the morning.
But yeah, typical me, looked at my layout the next morning and thought: I really hate this layout, I wish I could come up with something original and spunky! And so I decided to leave it the way it was, warts and all, for the time being until I thought up another plan.
Well I got a couple of nice comments from people on my layout, so thought today that perhaps I should work on what I have. Problem is, for some reason it won't save the changes I make to the code. I have tried many times to change it, add to it, delete it, and nothing works. All I can do is change it back to one of the standard layouts for now. So that is what I have done. Hopefully I get the enthusiasm to have another go in a few days, see if its all working again as it should.
Boo hoo!
