A Journal
I don't usually do journals, but we'll see how this turns out. Perhaps I shall write, and then again, perhaps I shan't. Conformity is not something I'm big on.
My family got a temporary pet today. Our neighbors up the street are renovation their house so they aren’t home right now and they unfortunately forgot two very important things. When they left, they locked their two little kittens out.

This morning, my sister and dad brought one of my dogs (Cora, for those of you who read my previous journal entries) back from training class at the SPCA and someone was waiting for them on the porch. Yes, that’s right. The two poor little kittens have been wandering around my neighborhood looking for food, and one of then – Raulito Jr. or little Raul(o ?) – was looking straight up at the door. Of course, at that time we didn’t know that it was hungry so my mother – who truly hates cats – was trying to shoo it away, even resorting to use of the hose. The cats stubbornly refused to leave, though.

Much to the kitten’s luck, the next door neighbor of the couple who own the cats walked by with her dog while I was trying to get my scaredy-cat dog – my older one (Toby, for all those who know whom I speak of) who really does like cats, as he was raised with them – to scare it away, this was after numerous attempts to return it to its home, and a incident in which my 12-year-old sister and the cat (on a leash) were chased back to my house by a Pomeranian. Because I mention that we were having a “cat problem” she took a look at the kitten and told us about what happened.

Well, seeing how I love animals oh-so-much – though I have an allergy to cats – I took pity on the kitten and gave it some milk......... Followed by some cheese......... And then some ham. And now, now it thinks that this is its home – my mother would never agree, she holds a great dislike for felines – and my sister is outside – though she is having a birthday party today and her friends are coming over soon – using a long piece of grass to play with it.

So that, my friends, is the story of why I have a little gray and white kitten sitting in my driveway, trying to catch a piece of dried grass while one of my dogs barks like mad at it and the other is wagging it’s tail.........
