"When the hell did Lilah install an ice cannon?!" I asked as the Dragonfly shot an ice missile at a Narpathian battle cruiser was turned into a block of ice.

"It did not come from anything installed on the Dragonfly," Nerissa said, her hologram form appearing next to me. "Reports show it comes from an organic source."

"...Okay...Station a guard outside the gallery where the crew of the Dragonfly will be held."

After a second or two, Nerissa's hologram form said, "The Dragonfly has landed in Hangar Eighteen."

"Inform Nissa and send a security team with her," I said. "I don't want whoever--or whatever--shot that ice blast getting the best of her."

"But this is Rose," Nerissa said, her hologram form appearing next to me.

"I know," I replied, thinking back to when she attacked my house. "I know....For now, let's just get the hell out of here. Opening a slip portal."

As the slipstream portal opened, there was a small jerk backwards.

"They're following us," Nerissa's display screen form said.

"Dump everything in Machine Shop Seven!" I said. "And before you say it, I know! Ikkit's going to kill me when we get back home. It wouldn't be the first time."

"Jettisoning everything in Machine Shop Seven," Nerissa's hologram form said.

Rolling their eyes to the upper left as they were searching the slip stream behind us, both Nerissa's said, "The Narpathians are destroyed."

"Dropping out of slipstream," I said, taking the nearest exit portal. A small jerk forward indicated we were clear. Switching over to auto pilot, I said, "Nerissa, take us on to Lia Alit Iil-tia."

Exiting the bridge, I headed to my quarters. There were many things I wanted to say to Rose; but what I would say would depend on what she said and how she reacted. If what I suspected happened, I was more dissapointed than angry--but first, I had to talk to my god daughter to find out exactly what happened.
