Name- Ardonis Ambershine

Title: Dancer of the shining fires

Race- Human

Age- 27

Class- Agent of the black flame, order of silver. (Combat cleric)

Deity- Zaltanus, the protector in the shadows.

Appearance: An average man in the means of height, just under six feet tall. He is broad shouldered countered by a lithe and lean pectoral and abdominal area. His legs are muscular and long making his stride long and hi steps hasty. His face was rough, in a handsome way, his jaw square and often ruggedly unshaved and covered in short black bristles, his hair was medium length and dark ending in a loosely tied fashion, his eyes(as all eyes of initiates of the black flame) are piercing glacier blue with white pupils. He wears simple black clothing to match his dark foreboding presence namely a leather cuirass and padded black shirt, simple boots and beeches, and most importantly a large black travelers cloak, at least fifty pockets are woven in his cape, and each has a hidden dagger. At his waist he wears a pair of kukris with black bone handles.

Abilities:

Ambidexterity- Ardonis can use either hand or both during combat and mundane task alike.

Limber- Ardonis can bend without breaking and is capable of great dexterous and agile feats.

Follower of Zaltanus: Zaltanus blesses his clerics with the following:
1.An innate ability to move near perfectly silent despite armor and personal affects.

2.Eyes which can detect person’s motives and see unseen ailments.

3.The ability to call on Zaltanus’ divine flames.

4.The ability to change the alignment of channeled energies (evil to good, healing to pain) as if the follower was neutral despite their true alignment.

Dagger dancer- Ardonis is more than capable of combat with any form of dagger like weapon. The weapon must be les then one and a half feet in length and must have either a blade or stabbing point.

Cool headed- Raised under the teachings of Zaltanus, Ardonis remains calm in near any situation.

Peaceful intent- Ardonis’ main goal is to protect others and spread the teachings of his god. In most respects he is more then friendly and peaceful.

Clerical spells- Ardonis can cast a multitude of divine spells, mainly focused on the channeling and changing of internal divine energies. His spell list is mainly full of healing and harm spells, with a few blessings and offensive spells thrown in.

Devine favor- Ardonis must follow the teachings of Zaltanus in order to g on with his every day life, lest he fall from Zaltanus’ favor. There is a code which serves as the basis of his actions (This code will be explained in the upcoming text.)




An explanation of Zaltanus, protector in the shadows:


Zaltanus is a lawful good god that is often thought to be neutral, and is often worshiped by neutral aligned people, though they are only partly considered in his favor. His teachings and philosophies are popular amongst the weak, sickly, and often preyed upon, for Zaltanus is that which protects those unable to protect themselves. He is a god often pouring down favors on vigilantes, city guards, and those taking up arms against the forces which prey upon the weak. His clerics are often the cause of many a mysterious death, usually that of a mugger, potential rapist, or even corrupt city official. There exists a list of ‘rules’ which they follow in order to make Zaltanus happy with their deeds, the list follows:

1.Never go about looking to deal out death.

2.Never preach the teachings of Zaltanus to those who do not ask.

3.Never attack in anger.

4.Never attack those unable to attack back.

5.Do not deal out death before giving those you have beaten the option of repentance.

6.Heal those you only harm, never leave your victims wounded if they still draw breath.




Ardonis’ gear:

Leather cuirass- Basic black leather armor with sheathes for his two primary blades.

Kukri of nightsbane- A simple looking black bone handled kukri with an emblem of Zaltanus on the pommel. It has crudely carved words on the sides of the blade that read; ‘My judgment is’. When willed by the wielder, black flames coat the blade. This black fire burns hot enough to melt low grade metal and sear shut any cut that the blade may create. (These flames have no apparent effect is they touch the cleric)

Zaltanus’ fist- Identical to the first kukri save the crudely carved words read: ‘the last resort’. The flames of the silver order of Zaltanus’ clerics are, well, silver. This blade can also be ignited at the will of the cleric. The silver flame is twice as hot as the black flame, but only burns on the blade itself. To feel the silver flame’s wrath, the blade itself must make contact. (These flames have no apparent effect is they touch the cleric)

Black clothes- self explanatory.

Traveler’s cloak- black and made of heavy wool, twenty pockets are sewn into the cloak in each on is a throwing dagger. (Stiletto style, and one foot long)

Spells:

1Heal- Depending on the time spent channeling the spell, the more damage it heals. (minor healing every round)

2.Harm- The exact opposite. This is flash damage, and must be channeled via touch.(Minor to heavy, more time channeling means more damage.)

3.Blessing of night’s strength- This allows greater feats of strength and dexterity for two rounds.

4.Flame lance- A straight dart of silver and black flame. (Moderate damage, burning, and knock back. Two charges and a chance to dodge.)

5.Shadow manipulation- Ardonis can manipulate shadows in his immediate vicinity and must channel the spell for the amount of time which he spends casting.

6.Shadow bolt- a hurled ball of shadow.(Simple physical damage, as if throwing a baseball.)

7.Purge poison

8.create food and water

9.detect magic

10.detect evil

11.detect undead
(Several other simple clerical spells are available but not listed.)

Biography:

Ardonis was always what many may call a 'city slicker', an urban fellow whom never had a taste for the open road or fresh air of distant country sides. He felt much more at home when in the busy streets of an unpredictable city. He had, long before discovering Zaltanus, believed that theft and murder were quite lucrative business ventures. He became a simple thug at the age of eight and did suprizeingly well despite being young and rather un muscular. At age twelve he made his first kill in exchange for money, and became almost addicted to this new occupation. At fourteen he accepted his last job as an assassin, for half way through his little mission he was stopped by some unspeakable force from the shadows. This force left him half way between life and death and all the time never bothered to show its face. It did however leave him a chance for salvation. This unknown force of vengance left a manuscript with the teachings of Zaltanus and healed him to the point of simply beaten, not dying. then, the figure left, never seen again.

Ardonis taught himself the ways of the shadowy protectors and clerics that are the servants of Zaltanus. By seventeen he had crafted his own form of combat and had mastered many a clerical spell. He had crafted his own blades that he could channel continous flame. For the past decade ir so, Ardonis has been living by the teachins of Zaltanus, and despite the rough life style, has grown to love it.
