Sample A:
    It was depressing, really.

Seated all alone in what she declared was her room, sitting stiffly on the floor with her back against the pale gray walls, hugging her knees while resting her chin on top of them. Her silver hair was tied into the normal high pigtails she always wore, the black ribbons hanging loosely over her shoulders. Her beautiful cat ears were more droopy than ever. Gold orbs remained fixed on the floor as she sat quietly in her pool of loneliness. She was waiting and she was a very patient person normally, but right now, all she wanted to do was stand and run off to find someone to play with.

A cold breeze blew in through the open window, brushing against Ayxukii's bare legs. She shivered momentarily before propping herself up and getting to her feet. Her movements caused the sides of her oversized white button-down shirt to droop down her shoulder, and she paused to push it back up into place. It was all she was wearing besides her undies, and the shirt was hardly even buttoned, so of course she cold. Her fingertips gripped the ends of the white cuffs as she walked over to the window to shut it. It took a bit of energy to do so, since the windows were so big and tall and Ayxukii was just a small, frail girl. Reaching out to grip the sides of the window, she pulled hard enough for the large window to snap close. She then reached for the other side of the glass window and jerked back to shut it as well. She shivered once more before turning around to search the floor for her socks.

A relieving warmth caressed her legs as she pulled the long, white knee-highs over them, all the way up to her mid-thighs. They had a cross design on them, with one long strip of black stretching vertically up and another band of the same dark color wrapped around just below the tops of the socks. Crawling on her hands and knees, she scrambled over to her dark black cloak and picked it up. She rose to her feet once more and then slipped her arms into the sleeves of the traditional Organization XIII outfit. Once again, the cloak was too big for her small body, but today it didn't bother her too much. It was warm. She nuzzled the warm, black fabric for just a moment before pulling on the double-zipper, one up to the top near her throat, and one down to her knees. She left the hood down, since she simply despised it. It always mussed up her hair and made her beautiful cat ears all droopy.

So what next? Ayxukii turned her head to glance back at the corner of the dreary room where she had previously been sitting. She always sat there in that very spot when she was without a mission, a task, a duty. When she had nothing to do, she'd just sit there and wait for orders from one of the higher ups. It was absolutely the worst because she was the kind of person who needed to be around someone, not chained up in some room waiting idly for orders all by herself. She sighed, honey orbs trailing their way to the large window once more. She took a few steps over to it, and placed a delicate hand onto the glass as she peered outside. What was she supposed to do now?

A loud crash interrupted her train of thought. The sound of glass breaking rang out in the silence like a foghorn. Ayxukii forced open the window and, standing on her tip-toes, leaned her head out the windowsill to look around. It took her a minute to catch sight of a large punching bag resting roughly on the ground a little ways to the right. It didn't take her mind very long to reach a one-word conclusion: Sivix.

I wonder what he's up to, Ayxukii thought, staring down at the punching bag. Of course, she could already guess the answer, and assumed he was working out. She sighed, slightly jealous that he had something to do to pass the time. Her eyes caught sight of something else - someone else - moving down there, and her head snapped to the side to see what it was. She was glad to see it was only Mixal, roaming around the streets of the World That Never Was. For a split second, she had thought it was an intruder of some sort.

"That's it. Everyone else is out and about while I'm sitting here all alone." Ayxukii said angrily. She quickly shut the windows again and then hastily threw on her dark black boots. She marched over to the rather large door and shoved it open, and then smiled. Yes, she would go find someone to play with. She shut the door behind her, and then sauntered down the halls in search of some of the other members of Organization XIII. She made her way towards the spiraling staircase to take herself downstairs. Maybe she'd go outside too, if she couldn't find anyone.

Sample B:

Though her attack on Kouji proved was too weak and off aim, Ayumi was glad to see that it had at least helped Skye's own snowball get a direct hit on him - right on the chest, sending him tumbling to the ground. Damn, Skye was pretty strong if she could knock a guy over like that. Or, maybe Kouji was just so weak that a girl was able to send him flying. The latter was more probable, she decided with an amused grin tugging at her the corners of her lips.

Bright golden eyes then traveled over to the Boar, only to shine with glee at the horribly entertaining scene of Sei covered in the spray of snow she had previously thrown at her. Ah, the look was priceless. It was only with Sei that you get such satisfaction for winning one over her, since she always made a big deal out of it, especially in intense situations like these.

Ayumi's attention was brought away by Kouji's voice, asking for a peace treaty. Apparently he had seen the error of his ways and wanted out. Ayumi chuckled at the very idea of it - Sei would never let such a thing happen. Nor the Rat, or Skye and Yoshiaki for that matter, who were apparently involved in this battle as well. Well, that was the Ox for you. Always trying to take the easy, lackadaisical way out. At least he was starting more like himself now, that lazy atmosphere taking its usual place around him once more. It had left him briefly, which had caused him to actually put out enough energy to pick up a snowball and toss it at Sei. Such time-consuming, strength-requiring actions were unusual for the teen.

"Yeah, yeah... you're lucky we have classes to get to." Ayumi said, waving her hand nonchalantly. Not that she didn't want to finish the fight, since it was actually pretty thrilling, but really, she had to get to school. They all had to get to school. At least one of them had to be responsible. "You're off the hook for now, Kouji-kun." She stated and turned around, unaware that just as she did so, Sei unleashed another attack on the male. Oh well, so the Ox still wasn't safe from the Boar's rage. Not like Ayumi would care much anyway. She didn't want to be late and get a thorough scolding from her teacher.

Ayumi brushed the snow off her gloves and what ever specks of white that had fallen over her clothing. Boy, was she glad that she hadn't been wearing her expensive leather gloves this morning - the damp flakes would've utterly ruined them. She sighed, lifting her school bag filled with all her textbooks and homework sheets, and then began walking down the snow-covered path that lead towards the main entrance. She didn't get very far.

It was an extrodinary pond, beautiful; there was no doubt about that. During the summer, it would sparkle and glisten in a intricate design, basking in the sun's warm light. It was always crystal clear and extremely clean, filled with the freshest water. In the spring time, it was perfect place for little creatures to come and visit, and maybe take a sip of water. She recalled just sitting down near the edge of this small, decorative pond at times, just watching the fish swim around in its waters. She had always found it peaceful here, a good place to settle down in the serenity and quiet and organize her thoughts. There were times when she wondered if it would be okay to dip her feet in it, or even her whole body, but of course, she never did.

The pond was a lot less pleasant than she had imagined when she plummeted into it so unexpectedly.

It had happened so suddenly. One moment, she had paused briefly to gaze at the frozen surface of the pond, and the next, she had heard a shout coming from behind her and as she turned, a thick, hard ball of frost collided with her face. So large that it had tipped her over and caused her to fall into the icy covering with a great shriek. Unfortunately, the layer of ice was thin and broke quite quickly under the sixteen year-old's weight. The feeling that came over her is dangerously close to indescribable. A sensation of unimaginable cold encompassed every inch of her body. All the extra clothing and padding she had put on that morning were suddenly weights, filling up with icy water that only added to the piercing cold and dragged her body down to the bottom of the pond.

No, it wasn't deep, and it wasn't that she was a terrible swimmer. She wasn't the best there was, but she wasn't helpless. What stopped her now, however, was the frigid cold that enveloped her body. Like how a wildfire spreads over a forest, the gelidity stretched right threw her body, and she could feel all the motion inside her slowing down. Maybe she was freezing over, she couldn't be sure, but all the pulleys and gears in her body were decelerating quickly. And then the worst part of it all happened.

Her body grew much too weak and with a great poof! the girl was no longer human, but had taken the form of an large striped feline. A burst of pain shot through her body, sharp, precise, hitting every part of the tiger's body. She had been nearly unconscious until her body suddenly wracked with pain. In an attempt to scream, her mouth shot open and water spilled down her throat, causing her to gag uncontrollably. With this last excruciatingly painful anguish, her whole mind and body shut down. Pale eyelids finally closed and everything went dark.

Sample C:
Slowly but steadily, white speckles of snow drizzled down from the sky, adding another layer to the blanket of snowflakes already matting the ground. An occassional breeze swirled the delicate crystals every which way before they drifted down and met the ground. The sky was still rather gray, but it was still early in the morning. There was still a tiny bit of sunshine, hopefully promising brighter skies as they day progressed.

Naturally, Kimi Totoshiwa was already awake. In fact, she was awake nearly an hour earlier. Thin metal bristles of her small wooden brush slid through her blonde tresses with ease. Clad in her wine red and white school uniform, she stared into her reflection in the full-length mirror hanging from her wall. Hair? Perfect. Face? Perfect. Skin? Perfect. Uniform? As cute as can be. Combing her hair gently, Kimi couldn't help but smile to herself, dark teal eyes glowing with radiance. There was nothing more pleasing, more satisfying, than staring into the beautiful wonder that was herself. Her perfect, flawless self.

After another minute or so of brushing, Kimi finally paused to glance at the clock sitting on top of her dresser. It read 6:02 in vibrant red print, telling her that it was time to get moving. She finally broke her hairbrush's chain of motion and laid it down on the dresser. Advancing out of the door, she left her bedroom and headed downstairs to the living room, where her bookbag was waiting for her on the tan leather couch. Every night before she went to sleep, Kimi made sure her bag was resting on that couch so that in the morning, she could just grab it and go without worrying if she ahd lost it or anything like that. She scooped it up and made her way over to the closet next to the front door. Her coat was a dark black color, leather, and slim to fit her curves. Most of all, though, it was expensive. Kimi put it on carefully and then slipped on her fluffy, black snow boots. Bag slung over her shoulder, Kimi opened the door and headed downstairs to the bottom floor. From there, she opened the glass doors and took a step outside.

Wow, it's so cold out... Kimi thought to herself with a slight frown. She buttoned up her coat before shutting and locking the door behind her. Then, she was off.

It really was brisk. The cold enveloped her like a sheet of ice and snowflakes brushed against her skin, sending cold shivers through her body. To keep warm, she put on a pair of soft red mittens and wrapped her arms around herself. Although her coat kept the top portion of her body warm, her thin knee-highs and poofy red skirt did nothing for her and her legs and face were exposed and subject to the snow's icy wrath. Kimi shivered, and then quickened her pace a little bit. At least it wasn't too windy and the snow was light.

Azumano Junior High wasn't that far away from her house, and that's why she was able to walk there. Some other girls took trolleys and bikes and... limos, but the little bit of exercise she got on her walk there did her good. She made her way through the town, looking around at the peaceful scene. The best way to get the cold off her mind was to think about something else. However, unlike how most people might stop to appreciate the beauty of the snow or stare at the sky, Kimi instead admired the beauty of the people's clothes. She only stopped when she saw a cute pair of shoes in a store window and she only looked up when an attractive boy walked passed her. Why? Well, unlike most people, Kimi was unable to appreciate the finer things in life - she only knew how to like the cuter things in life.

Sooner or later, the school began to come into view. She smiled in relief and quickly advanced towards the school's gates. Once the presence of other students surrounded her, Kimi immediately began walking in a slower, more graceful manner. A couple of girls greeted her and she waved back to them, saying a quick "hello" without stopping. She slipped her cellphone out of her pocket to check the time, and was glad to see that she wasn't too late. The teacher probably wasn't in yet, so she had a little time to get to her locker before class began. Still, Kimi didn't waste any time and quickly made her way inside the building.

Upon enterring, a blanket of warmth wrapped around her, caressing her shivering body. Relieved, she smiled and removed her mittens, stuffing them back into her coat pocket. She made her way towards her locker, waving to a few more people on her way. Locker door opened, she removed her bag and coat and hung them on the small hook at the side of the locker. She took a moment to adjust her skirt and smooth out her uniform before taking out the books she'd need for her first period. After words, she sauntered down the hallway to her classroom.

Kimi's class was full of quite a few strange people. A clumsy, fire engine red-haired boy named Daisuke Niwa, a mysterious, soft blue-haired kid named Satoshi Hikari, and twins named Risa and Riku Harada. There were others too, but those were just the ones that came to mind since she was so interested in them. But there was one main reason she wanted to involve herself with them, and that reason was a winged art thief named Dark Mousy. Daisuke Niwa? Some sort of connections to Dark. The Harada sisters? The younger one was supposedly "dating" him while the older one was constantly accusing him of being a pervert as if she had exprienced it personally. There was another boy named Takeshi Saehara, who was son of a detective and seemingly eager to track down Dark and get his heists on film or something to that extent. All were good sources of information to find and get closer to Dark.

Kimi deposited her books on top of her desk and then turned to greet a few of her friends. Like she had thought, the teacher wasn't here yet, giving her some free time to chat away with her friends. She noticed Riku Harada was by herself at the window, and wondered if it was a good time to swoop in and see if she could squeeze any information out of her inconspicuously. Silently confirming the decision, she walked over to the older Harada, the one she called "Harada-kun" because of her boyish personality while she called the younger ones "Harada-chan" for her girlish one. She decided to greet her, and did so in a kind, innocent manner.

"Good morning, Harada-kun~! How are you and your sister doing on this fine winter morn?"

    A sugary-sweet smile.
