Some hurt has fallen upon me indirectly. It has brought upon me speechlessness, breathlessness, and a perfect hollowness deep in my chest. I'll do my best to explain.
A very dear friend of mine has recently expressed to me a great pain she has endured.
Two years ago [I assume] she was violently raped and impregnated by an unidentified man as she was strolling about after hours. Months later, she had an abortion and lost the baby.
She was only 14.
What hurts me the most is that she has feared men for a long time, that no man has treated her as she most deserves to be treated: as a saint. She is a beautiful, kind, angelic woman and needs the greatest love any man can offer her. I sometimes wish I could afford her that love, but I already love another woman with all of my heart and all of my heart's the most I can give.
