Prologue This Be. The Light of the World by Lilith Loincourt
"Doctor, Doctor, she's opening her eyes!" I heard a frantic nurse calling. My eyelids felt like they were weighed down by cement blocks as I saw the bright light burning my eyes. I quickly closed my heavy eyelids, blinded. Oh god this pain was unbareable. All over, I felt like a thousand needles were stabbing at my skin, every space on my body. Espeically, my stomach. What was going on? What was wrong with me? "Anya can you hear me?" I heard a deep, rich voice calling my name...was that my name? I tried opening my eyes again. "Agh.." I groaned seeing that damned bright light again. "It's all right Anya, you'll get used to it soon." the doctor replied. I looked around the room, it was white with montiers surronding me, and needles in both my arms and hands. 'What the hell was going on?' I thought. I looked up, first my eyes finally focusing with some blurryness to a man in a white coat checking my heart, my pulse mummbling that it was amazing I was alive. Was that bad in shape? I tried to speak again my throat, was dry and scratchy "What...what do you mean?" I tried my best as he told me it was best not to talk in my condition and ignored my question. Before I could repeat myself, i was doubled over with volent coughs, gasping for air, as blood came onto my hands. Dear god what happened? The frantic nurse quickly went by me and put an air mask on me as I caught my breath. I slowly started closing my eyes, like a spell was put on me. Dizzier and dizzier I grew as I felt the darkness take over again.
