You're a poor marksman...
You may have hit the World Trade Center, but you missed America.
You hit the pentagon, but you missed America.
You hit helpless American bodies, but you STILL missed America.
Why? Because of something you will never understand. America isn't about a building; it's not about ! financial centers, or military hubs. America isn't about a place, America isn't even about its people...
America is about an IDEA. An idea that you can live free.....free to worship, free to dream, free to speak, free to love, free to bear arms, free to roam, free to congregate, free to earn as much as you can figure out how to, free to think, free to disagree, free to vote, free to choose, free to teach, free to learn, free to be alive, free to live the life you envision, and free to pursue happiness. (No guarantees that you'll reach it, but you sure can try!)
Go ahead and whine your terrorist whine and chant your terrorist litany: "if you will not listen, if you do not see my point....then feel my pain." This concept is alien to Americans. We live in a country where we don't have to see your point, but you are free to have one. We don't have to listen to your speech, but you are free to make one. Don't know where you got the idea that everyone has to agree with you. (We disagree with one another all the time...and we're free to do so.) There's a Spirit that tends to take over people who come to this country.... people looking for opportunity, looking for liberty, looking for freedom. You seem to be incapable of understanding this Spirit. We don't live in America... America lives in us! American Spirit courses through us, it soars above and around us, and it finds its way into our hearts. Killing a few thousand of us, or a few million of us for that matter, won't kill our Spirit. Instead...you've strengthened it. You have brought us together... bound by our American Spirit.
Most of the time, it's a pretty happy-go-lucky kind of Spirit...... until we're crossed by a coward..... then it becomes an entirely different kind of Spirit....
Wait until you see what we do with that Spirit this time. Sleep tight.....if you can.
