More Ocean
Prologue
The sun is setting on the Western horizon. The waves wish to hide the massive rays of light that shine upon the tide. With every passing moment the rays disappear. Where am I? I am on the shore. My hair rippling behind me with the ocean air. Sea spray is splashed on my face as smile at the setting sun. The long peasant skirt and peasant blouse that I am wearing ripples like the tide. I do not care that the tide is at my ankles. The sun is still setting. I do not care that my clothing is wet with the ocean water. The last rays of the day will warm me. Still smiling serenely, I watch as the sun gives one last wave goodbye that seems to say,"Do not worry, I will come again after the moon has had her time to shine."
The tide is now at my calves. The sun has gone but now the glory of night is upon me. I gaze at the moon and stars. My smile is almost as bright as one of them for in the distance along the shore, I see a person running. This person is running toward me. Soon my smile is brighter than all the stars, for the man that was running has now taken me in his arms and is warming my now cold body. I start to walk arm in arm with the man, my back to the sea. But stopping, I turn and say a final goodbye, to the sea I called my home.

Hello, My name is Leila. And I live on the on the edge of the horizon. Well okay, I live in a village beside the sea. My father is the nobleman in charge of the town. My mother passed away when I was young. People often tell me how much I look like her. My hair is as black as raven feathers yet as soft as the finest silk. My skin is lightly tanned for all the time I spend out in the sun. My eyes would mirror those of my mother, which were a stunning sea-blue. I barely looked like my father at all. The only thing that I was like him in was that my face and nose where shaped just like his. I am tall and slender even at the age of seventeen. But ever since my mother passed away, my only enjoyments have been rides on my black stallion, which I named Keir, and helping the common people. I do not enjoy the boring 'duties' of a daughter of a nobleman nor do I wish to marry a fine lord or knight or any other pompous, arrogant, egotistical man. I have always longed for an adventure with my own 'prince charming'. However, I often times enjoy going to the market and hear about other places.

One time as I sat in the background....first let me tell you when i go to market I usually wear common clothes. I prefer to be treated as equally as any other person. However the only way people would recognize me as the lord's daughter was a crest on my cloak, which i usually cover up. Anyways, once in the market not too long ago, our little village of Brites was graced with a prince. Not just any prince but an elven prince.

I remember that day. I went to the market late morning early afternoon, the time I usually go because I am not bogged down my lessons on how to be a proper lady and such idiotic things as that. The sky was clear and the sun shone radiantly. The meadows and fields, littered with flowers, danced with the leaves ad the wind played its flute. I smiled as I slipped out of the manor. The day was beautiful. I in haled deeply and made my way to the market. The wind often played a peculiar note that made petals and leaves dance through and around my billowing cloak and gown. I stopped a short way before market and danced with the wind. It was so free and had no limitations, no rules, nothing to stop it from being...itself. After picking a few various kinds of flowers I made a garland out of the lilies of the valley and lilacs. After weaving the flowers into my garland, I placed on my head and beamed even more. Flowers always made me feel good and kinda embarrassing they make me feel prettier than I really am. Lilies and orchid made up the other flowers. Although the Heather was beautiful, I left it be. Besides my attention was soon drawn to the tall, dark haired man standing next to me admiring the Heather too. He smiled and my heart almost melted immediately. Besides the fact his teeth where white and straight, and lips and formed a beautiful smile, it was the amazing dimples is what did it. It caused me to blush and smile in my embarrassment. Turning to look at me, the wind sent a great ripple as only a flutter would playing rather fast , causing his wavy hair to flutter in every direction. His eyes were a dark brown that was very much like my father's yet this man's eyes held something my father's didn't : happiness and love. I only nodded slightly. As I did so I noticed his ears. They were pointed. My eyes widened a bit. "S-Sir," I stammered, "are you an elf?" My voice was soft yet very clear. He chuckled. "Yes I am. In fact I'm a prince." My heart skipped beat. Father didn't know any royalty was paying Brites a visit. I gulped a then blushed for the prince stared at me with an expression of confusion. I cleared my throat before calmy ,or not to calmly stating,"The lord of this town, Brites, doesn't know a member of a royal family has come here, Highness." I wanted to make myself out to be a servant or slave because if he was here only to be my 'suitor' then I wouldn't have it. I dont want to get married. Besides being extremely handsome, he was probably a arrogant person.
