[letter #8]
To my Most Talented Friend:
As I am writing this, I have taken out the picture from its envelope to admire it again. I would get it framed, but the measurements of the picture are quite out of the norm. I love it very much, and I will be certain to always remember the moment with this picture beside me.
You didn't have to worry about anything getting wet or blotchy. The picture is in perfect condition, and the letter is dry and legible (except for a small stain on the corner that I suspect came from coffee). The corners of the envelope are a bit dog-eared, but there's not much anyone can do about that. By the time I recieved the letter, the sun had made its way out again after several days of pouring. I'm glad that the forecast for the next few days is clear. I hate sitting in that gondola; it's "all wet, and there's water beneath you and coming down as well," as you put it. As soon as I got home, I took all the clothes and dumped them in the hamper and took a nice, long bath. The steam clouded up the whole room until I nearly forgot that it was raining outside.
But here I am, babbling about the weather. I think about myself too often, I think.
The rain didn't do any harm, did it? You haven't caught a cold? I know it wasn't chilly that day, but wet clothes will do almost anything to get a person sick. I hope you managed to stay dry; after all, you did say that you were carrying a large gray umbrella.
That reminds me, I do believe I might have seen you. I didn't look too hard, because I wasn't expecting you to come out and see me in such horrible weather. I did see the gray umbrella, though. Next time, if it rains, you don't have to come out! I'll imagine you sitting in the cafe, nice and warm and dry, and I'll be happy.
I haven't much more to say, so I'll bid you good night!
Always,
Your Delighted Friend
[author's notes]
Gah! Sorry that it was just finished halfway! I had to go to a doctor's appointment. Well check-ups, shots, all that. It seemed rather quick, but by the time we finally got home, two hours had passed. o.o Didn't get much time to do anything today.
Well, I know for certain that I'll have time to update tomorrow(whether I want to or not is a different story. xP I try to get past writer's block) I thank you all for the wonderful comments!
