[letter #7]
To My Gift-awaiting Friend:
I have finished your gift! As you can probably tell, it's the page on the back (and probably the one smudging black and gray all over your fingers). I hope the drawing wasn't something too simple. Out of experience, most women do like having pictures gifted to them, but sadly, I couldn't draw much of a portrait. It would most likely be horribly inaccurate. That wouldn't do.
I drew the picture from a standing point on the bridge. The lamp post is a bit too big, and quite a bit centered, but I think it worked out. I managed to capture you as you sailed under (wearing the hat again!) and barely managed to sketch down the gondolier. I didn't bother to draw the rust on the railing as it started to get late, and I emptied the streets of people. I realized that things weren't exactly proportionate, and to keep it from becoming too evident, I kept the people away. There were a few ducks, but I never could manage to get them right.
Right now, it's raining. I'm in a nearby cafe, but when the bell tolls, I'll head over to the bridge with my umbrella. It's large, a mellow gray, so if you can't see my head, that's me. I don't know how you can be sitting in a boat. It's probably all wet, and there's water beneath you and coming down as well.
The bell has just tolled, so I shall go now. Hopefully, this isn't too blotchy when it gets to you.
Awaiting a response (hopefully dry!),
Your Friend who Couldn't Wait on the Bridge
P.P.S - I don't think so.

[author's notes]
Lookie at the pretty piccy! xDD It's so fuzzy. I scanned it at 300 DPI, and for some reason, it became 2000 pixels plus instead of the usual 1000 or so. Thus, when I shrunk it to a somewhat reasonable size, it got fuzzy. Ah well. My details will blend.
I realized that the weather was never bad. Thus, it is now raining. Maybe a spell of rain? Who knows? I was going to base it on the weather here, but it's too sunny most of the time. California for you, eh?
