Hello, I just want to jot down some more ideas for my Instruments spinoffs (that will probably never get written, because the main plotline will probably never get written lol).

The story for the Choir is basically my version of Animal Farm/Russian revolution, using themes like corruption of power, propaganda, etc.

The Choir's society is initially kinda like a monarchy - their leader is known as "The Director". He/she makes all the calls and has all the power. A young and impressionable Soprano (a girl described with an almost hypnotic/entrancing voice with great potential to be a leader) joins a group that plans to rebel against The Director and take control of the capitol, giving freedom back to the people and making sure everyone in the Choir can live equally, instead of The Director holding all power/resources/money/etc. Here, she meets Alto, Tenor, and Baritone.

Fast forward a few years - Soprano is 21 (I think that means Alto and Tenor are 20 and Bari is also 21?). The rebellion group, which calls themselves the Voice ("we are the voice of the people!" wink , has somehow grown large enough to stage a takeover of the castle. Soprano, with her charisma and natural powers of persuasion, has taken up a leadership position as the second in command of the Voice. The group attacks the capitol. They succeed.

In the final moments of the battle, only Soprano, the group's leader, and The Director are present in the capitol's control room. The leader executes the Director, claiming the long-lasting struggle for power may finally end, and that people can finally live in equality. For an unknown reason, Soprano kills the leader.

Soprano tells the public that the Voice's leader was killed by The Director, and that she ended the battle by defeating The Director. She acts on the leader's initial promises - redistributing wealth, food, resources, etc. to the general population. She abolishes all known laws relating to the The Director. To further support the notion that power will never be held by one person again, she appoints Alto, Tenor, and Baritone, as her co-leaders of the Choir. (I haven't decided a name for them yet, the council?) They divide the island up into four segments - each of them to lead a part of the nation.

However, we start to see changes in leadership as the four of them rise to power... For example they like to keep the population under control using a mix of propaganda/brainwashing and intense surveillance (think 1984?). They also really emphasize the "cohesiveness" of the Choir, for example implementing a mandatory national anthem that all able-bodied citizens are required to participate in (think of people standing still for the Thai national anthem?).

We can kinda pan out and view the Choir as a whole (as the reader/viewer) from here. A secret service is implemented to keep the population in line, in case anyone tries to question the leaders in power. People slowly become equal, but they are equally poor...and unhappy... except the leaders. It is unknown if this was Soprano's goal all along, or if this need for power/control developed over time.
