I suppose I should start at the beginning then, as stories go the start of this one was a little anticlimactic... ( As seen from my 7 or 8 year old memories. )

I was on a beach playing in the warm yet wet sand. The Sun blazed as ever as a few families with thier kids nearby talked, played an enjoyed a beautiful day near the ocean.

Then screams all at once an from every direction as the sky lit up. Large flashes of bright white light an...the roar, it was deafening as the screams dulled and faded to silence as the roar only got louder.

Sunbathing on the roof of my new home, years an decades later as that dream fades.

The war of the Humans and A.I. killed so many people an reduced much of the world to ruins as small pockets of Humanity survived after the war subsided an Human kind had won by the smallest margin

Im better off now though, not a care in the world as I continue to sunbathe taking a sip of the recycled water from my repurposed water bottle.

I have a apartment in the building I share with a group of survivors here, our building sits about at the 10th floor above the sea which laps below.

The old CCBV Building, that I guess was a TV Broadcasting Building or maybe it was a the Company HQ? No matter, now it acted as home for myself and 5 other survivors.

We had as a small community gathered parts scavenged from other buildings an cars an whatnot an our pooled our knowledge to cobble together a working Solar Panel set on the roof to power a portion of the floor we all inhabit together and as well a water system which takes the sea water below gathers it in a tank boils it to steam an then it cools back to water we drink...we have almost everything a person could need.

Oh, I forgot about the food! Silly me.
We have a garden on the roof as well which we take turns tending as well as any left-overs from the old times that still edible.

Bags of food or preserved can things..we manage okay.
