A Journey Of A Thousand Miles Begins With But One Step.
New World Blues: Moving On In... Busy Days
A few days have past since my last entry as Ive been trying to stay busy an remain positive moving forward with the moving into my new home an getting everything in order. Over the course of the three days I planned to move in during,

-----

In the first day I got a food supply transferred over to new home.....rambling...just going to call it "New Base" from now on...""I must be cracking up, Im talking to myself a lot lately" ha ha ha.

The "New Base" has food, then I started moving needed / survival supplies over. Things for fire making, med supplies, an emergency food gathering gear ( fishing rod, twine string, a old worn out .22 with 11 bullets. )

With all that moved the first day was ending so I stayed at the "New Base" for the first night ever. Rolled out my sleeping bag ( I didn't have a workable bed just yet. ) an barricaded the door to the small bedroom closed for safety. I had a small bit of water an a portion of a can of beans heated in the hearth-fireplace in my "New Base" an saved the rest for the next morning.

-----

I woke up on the second day, stretching after shimming out of my sleeping bag then checking an looking to see nothing had been disturbed during my time asleep. Luckily nothing changed, everything was in the relatively same place with the door still shut an jimmi'ed shut.

I ate the rest of the can of leftover beans and had a decent drink of water before putting my shoes back on an gloves to protect my hands. I unjimmi'ed the door an went from there moving the next set of things Id need, extra bits of useful gear I had for lights ( and batteries ), two small hand pumps ( which can be used for getting water up out of a container or any liquid for that matter if needed ), a few hats ( for weather protection) an lastly what few personal trinks I keep an small useful things for traveling ( sharp knife, walking stick..ect. )

I managed moving that stuff pretty quickly so I ended up taking a small water break an seeing what my plans for the third and final move day would turn into as I though an rested I knew a bed would be a reallllllly nice comfort.

I considered what my options were an what an where it would be easiest to get a mattress thats clean and not possibly able to get me sick from the last person to sleep on its illness.

"Old Base? ..thats pretty far, but if I had to I could" I then though of nearby places I might find one. "A few houses near here could be easiest to get a mattress from, yeaaaah" I ended up deciding to go searc the nearest house to my "New Base" an hopefully get a useable mattress from there and move it where it was needed.

I basically ended the night early to rest so Id be ready to go search an return safely with something I could sleep on.

I got ready for bed taking a sip of water snuggling in my sleeping bag after closing off the door to the room one more time for the night.

-----

I once again got up put on my gear an headed out to the nearest house to look for a bed. It took several minutes to walk but once there I saw that the house was pretty rough and much of its contents from everywhere inside the house was scattered on the floor an outside a bit too.

For now I only wanted a mattress, the rest can wait till later after Im settled in and ready to look and gather more supplies again.

So I went slowly from room to room seeing what there was an about beds and at first I found no suitable beds, as many were pretty old worn in a state of decay or in a similar shape. I continued till I went upstairs an surprise I found a bed there as I guess it was a guest bed just in case it was needed by the family who lived here.

"Great Shape! Ok! I have my mattress an a set of box springs too" I happily mused to myself as it took time but I had the mattress down and a few hours it was safely at my "New Base" and a short time after before bedtime I managed to work the box springs out too an with the mattress set it up and had a bed to sleep in that night...."That...*breathing heav" was a lot of work, but worth it!

I got ready for bed once more as I had ate a little bit of junk food that was still edible in my supplies an drank a bit of water just beforehand. I got the bed ready with blankets and a pillow taken from the same place as the bed. An that was my night last night, busy ending to three days of work but everything was mostly accounted for and ready.

Goodnight
